Clementine

It was today that Clem was finally discharged from hospital. She told Lee that it was nice knowing she could sleep in her own bed, the first time in several weeks.
Her wrist was no longer in a cast, but she still had to wear a sling for the healing collarbone. But there was some tenderness with her wrist, so Clem had to be careful with how she moved it.

Lee had just unlocked the front door, allowing Clem to walk into the house for the first time in awhile.
Carley emerged from the kitchen, holding a large plate with a whole cooked chicken balancing on it. She called out to the living room, "I thought since you finally got out of hospital, we could have a nice family meal. It's roast dinner, you're favourite!"

The simple gesture made Clem feel welcome again, since it's been some time having one of her mums home cooked roast dinners. It also was her favourite meal to eat.

Before eating, Clementine checked her phone - just for any calls or texts. There was an unread message from no one other than Louis.
L: hey Clemster, I know that you got discharged today. Sorry I couldn't be there! Baby sis needed a babysitter :/ I'll come by tomorrow before school to pick you up x

Clem smiled to no one in particular, and then typed out a reply for her boyfriend. She didn't want to leave him on 'read'.

That night, the Everett house was filled with laughter and normality for the first time in weeks. It was nice to have no fighting or anyone in hospital. AJ and clementine would make strange faces from across the dinner table, which would earn a laugh from their parents.
Family is what you make it as uncle Kenny would say.

Clem decided to get an early night, since the next day would be her first day returning to school since the accident. However, trying to get undressed and put her pajamas on would prove to be difficult.
If she raised her arm too high or at a weird angle, her collarbone would hurt, earning a hiss from the girl. "Urgh, fuck." She muttered to herself.
She couldn't use her other arm either because too much tension on her wrist would cause that to cramp up.

Even brushing her teeth took a long 10 minutes, rather than the recommended 2 minutes.
This happened both that evening and the following morning.

Waking up the next day, both parents had already left for work leaving Clem to fix herself up with breakfast. Thankfully, AJ was pleased with having an easy cereal bar for breakfast - which didn't require any cooking.
But, for herself, Clementine decided she fancied toast - which was clearly a mistake when it came to buttering the bread.
To say she was in pain and made a mess in the kitchen would be an understatement.

Within a few minutes, Louis's car had pulled up into her driveway, signalling her to take her leave. Opening the front door, there was stood Louis - in all his glory, in those ripped jeans.

"Hey Clem, let me get that for you." He said while taking her bag from her. What a gentleman.

Huffing the hair away from her eyes, Clem greeted him back. "Morning Louis."

And with that, they hopped into the car before heading for the school.

Louis

A few hours had passed by now, and it's lunchtime. It was just like another lunchtime at Ericson's high school. The group was finally complete after Clem's return.
On this specific day there was Louis, Violet, Marlon, Clementine, Mitch and Ruby.
Aasim said that he had some homework to catch up on and would be in the library. He's probably writing a secret Violentine fanfic though.

Walking over to the crowded table, Clem dropped her bag onto the floor without a care. Pulling out her lunch, she silently began eating. Everyone glanced at each other, noticing the unusual silence.
Seeing that his girlfriend was finding it difficult to put her water bottle back in her half open bag, he took both items from her and slipped it in for her.

Clem smiles at him, silently appreciative of his actions. Clem didn't want to ask for help, since there was a group of friends around but she also likes bring independent.
She's never relied on anyone but herself, and it will always be that way.

Mitch noticed her robotic movements, due to the annoying injuries. "Struggling there Clem?" He sniggered, while watching her fight the bag and bottle. To say it was a tasteless joke would be an understatement too.

That was it for Clem, breaking point had been reached. She abruptly stood up, causing the chair to fall from under her and onto the floor. "You're a fucking asshole, ya know that Mitch. How about you try being nice to someone for once in your little irrelevant life?"

Marlon eyed Mitch, with a hint of disgust on his face. "Dude, really? You could have fucking helped her. But no, you had to be the dick to make a comment that wasn't even funny."

Despite her hard headed exterior, Violet caught a sight of the tears threatening to spill. Clem was on the verge of tears, which was not a common sight at all.

Violet stood up, gathered Clem's belongings and took off heading for the girl's bathroom, with Clementine already ahead of her. Louis was not far behind, catching wind of the situation before anyone could ask.

Throwing caution to the wind, Louis decided fuck it and followed the two girls into the bathroom.
He quickly entered the end stall, locking it but stood on the toilet lid so he could poke his head out from the gap at the top. Louis was dangerously balancing on a toilet, and could fall either into it or on the floor with one wrong move.

Upon seeing the odd sight of her boyfriend, Clem's tears were interrupted by a genuine laugh. Louis didn't do it with the intentions to make her laugh, but if it did then it's worth it. The main reason was so he wouldn't get in trouble with unsuspecting student or a teacher.

Violet still wanted to get to the bottom of the random outburst, although it wasn't unprovoked. "So, what caused that extreme emotion change?"

"I just hate depending on people for the most simple of things. I've never needed anyone else, only me. Fuck, I couldn't even brush my teeth this morning without it taking an extra 10 minutes." She admitted.

Still in hiding but speaking up so he could be heard, Louis spoke "Well Clemster, lucky for you, your prince is here to always serve and protect. That's me by the way."

Clem turned to look up at Louis, only seeing his dreads and eye through the top of the bathroom stall gap. "Of course it's you, dork. One day you will get the favour returned. Like you said, nothing wrong with short and sweet."

Violet just looked at the girl with wide eyes. But the blush creeping up Louis's face showed he understood exactly what his girlfriend meant.
