Background:
Akemi was born and raised in Honolulu along with her older brother. She grew up speaking multiple languages (English, Japanese & Korean) because of her grandparents (both sides) and mother not speaking very much English. Akemi was put into dance classes in early elementary where she gained a love for performing. Her parents allowed her to audition for Korean Ent. Companies after she turned 12. She was accepted into a JYP Entertainment and moved to South Korea when she was nearly 13. She eventually left the company for personal reasons. She chose to go to Idol School to not only make a name for herself but also to prove to her parents that she has improved and that she can make it as an idol.
