Ross's POV
We jump out of Slipspace right behind the Penance. "Status!" ""Engines spun to zero. We're drifting. "" one of the crew says. "Sir, Object coming into range." another one says. "Bob, What exactly am i looking at." "That would be another Halo. " Austin coughs "What." "Bob, give me all intel on the first Halo ring. I don't care if i have the premission." "Yes sir." he goes away. "Sergeant, Prep 2 flights of pelicans. Austin, Take First Platoon. Make a hole in the Covenant Defensives Network."
Austin's POV
We drop into the ring's atmosphere and as soon as the drop pods open. We start to attack the Coveys and soon we clear the Landing zone.
4 hours later
"The Prophet of Regret is going to activate Halo."Bob says. "By this intel, he will need a key. The Index, theres a Library just like on the first ring. I'll go get the Index, Austin, kill Regret, he has given us all we need." Ross says. "I will and Ross, be safe. The Parasite is upon us." I watch as our ship flies away.
"Austin, look up." I look up to see over 500 ships and a space station "Bob, is that," "yes, thats High Charity. Austin, kill the Prophet of Regret." I run into the sanctuary and pull out my energy sword. I kill the Honor Guard Elites and I walk towards the Prophet of Regret. "Here lies the path to the Great Journey. My death is a sacrifice to the Great Journey." I pull my sword up and say ""Were it so easy"" I strike him down and walk outside to see the Solemn Penance charging its Glassing Beam (Theres a name for it but I can't remember it)I run to the side of the temple and when i get to the end, the beam sends me into the water...
Ben's POV
I am walking to the Sanctuary of the Hierarchs on High Charity with the Arbiter. A elite with two guards walk out while we walk in. "ugh Politics. Do you know Arbiter and Ben that the Elites have threatened to quit the High Council." "Giving the Brutes the power is a death wish." I say. ""We have all ways been your protectors."" Arbiter says "yes but these are dire times. Go down to the Library and get The Index. Ben take the Sovereign Heart to the surface of Halo and prepare to get Index off the ring." "By your word."
I board my ship and wait for all the Elites to get on. I only bring Elites on my ships cause I trust them more than the Brutes though Truth wants Tarturus to come with.
"You're on my ship so its my command." Another Elite says to Tarturus. He says something back and I come out of the Covenant version of a mess hall and say "First would you both shut up and second The Sovereign Heart is my ship." "Forgive me Ben." "You have been."
10 Phantoms fly out of the Sovereign Heart and land on Halo. "I'll keep the Flood off your backs, you grab the Index." I switch to contact the Hierarchs. "Hierarchs, Premission to glass the ring in Flood controlled area." "Granted." Truth says. "Glass only the main Flood areas. Do not let the Flood pass the Sentinel Wall." "Ben, I'm inside the Library, The humans are here as well." "who?" "Ross." "Take the Index and run. Do not hurt him." "Too late. Tarturus has him now." suddenly I lose connection with the Arbiter. "Go back to the orbit of High Charity." My ship returns to the orbit. When I see the defense fleet, They're firing at each other. "Shipmaster, The Elites are rebelli--" I cut one of the Elites off and say "Tell all Elite ships that the Sovereign Heart is here and we will kill the Brutes."
Austin's POV
I wake up being moved around. I open my eyes and Bob says "What is that." "I am the monument to all your sins." (Type in on Youtube: Halo 2 cutscenes cause this one is too hard to repilicate but basically the ugly thing is the Gravemind and Chief (Austin) and Arbiter gets told about Halo and what its used for.)
I get teleported to the Covenant city of High Charity. I see the two Prophets left holding the Index. That means Ross failed. Suddenly, a group of Elites come in and start firing at the Brutes. "Kill the Elites." Truth says and the elevator both Prophets are on goes down where we can't see them. I hide in a dark corner and when all the Brutes are dead, A couple of Elites find me and say "Our shipmaster wants to see you." I was about to say something when he says "Alright shipmaster." He looks at me and says "here take my Plasma Rifles and follow me."
We run to where the Forerunner Dreadnought can be seen in the distance and a few Brute guards protecting the Prophets fires at the Elites and injures them. Truth pulls Ross and make him look at me. "Say goodbye to your friend." Suddenly the Flood comes out of my crashed ship. The Brutes attack the flood while the Prophet of Truth gets in one Phantom while Tarturus gets in another with Ross. The prophet flies to the dreadnought while Tarturus flies out of High Charity. I walk over to the Prophet of Mercy and say "Where's your Friend going." "Earth to finish what we started." The flood thing kills him and it dies as well. "Austin Keep me in the system. If the the Covenant tries to activate the ring. I'll overload your ships engines to destroy both High Charity and Halo." "Austin get on that Phantom over there and jump to Earth." One of the Elites says. "I'm getting you four out of here." I run over to them and pick one up and let the Phantom's lift bring them up into the ship. 2 Elite Counselors come out firing at Flood and when they see me they say "As much as we would like to not go with you, your are only hope to get out of here." "Just help me get these injured Elites on to the Phantom. Do you guys have a ship." I ask the Counselors. "we have a CCS-battle cruiser docked on the other side of the Dreadnought. We take the Phantom to their cruiser. "Austin you need to be the captain of the ship. Your the only one who can get to the surface of Earth without being fired upon." I sit in the shipmaster chair and say "All crews, prepare for slipspace jump."
Ben's POV
I watch from the Sovereign Heart as Austin's new CCS cruiser jumps into slipspace, I say to myself "See you soon babe." I contact the shipmaster of the Shadow of Intent and say "All cruisers link up with either the Shadow of Intent or Sovereign Heart. Today is the mark of Rebellion. We will take our revenge on the Prophets." The Elites growl (in a good way). "Today is the day that the Fleet of Retribution is Formed...."
