café. I order an americano while I wait for it, I sit down at a small table. I run my fingers through my hair, trying to detangle a few knots. I search through my handbag for my phone charger, No luck. I guess I forgot it there, and there is no way I'm going back to get it. I see a paper on the table next to mine, seems like someone left it. I grab it and slowly go through it.

As I get to the help wanted section and start browsing, I sigh deeply. "You all right dear?" A woman in her sixties asks me as she brings me my cup of coffee. She looks over my shoulder. "Oh, looking for a job?" I smile at her and nod. She looks me up and down for a second. "You know what go to the office building next door. Ask for Sophie, tell her Molly says hi. And would you mind bringing her something for me?" "Uhm, okay." I nod. Couldn't hurt I guess, and it will make the time go by a little faster. "Excuse me, do you have a washroom where I could freshen up a bit?" I ask. She nods and points to a door in the back of the café.

I look at myself in the mirror, I look like shit. My cheeks are tear stained, I run my hands through my bag and find a compact powder, thank god. I put my hair up into a bun and quickly put on some powder to even out my skin tone a bit. Good enough, I try and smile at myself, but it only comes out as some weird grimace. I smooth out my blouse, tuck it into my jeans and straighten my coat out. Grabbing my coffee, my suitcase and a takeaway bag from Lydia as I walk back out to the busy London street.

I take a deep breath, and then I enter through the big glass doors. I go up to the receptionist. "Hi, uhm I'm looking for Sophie? "The receptionist looks at me, raises an eyebrow and mumbles "14th floor, elevators on your right. You can leave your suitcase down here; we can store it in the back. What's your name and phone number?" I quickly leave my details with her and head for the elevators. I press the button and wait for the doors to close.

"Ping" I'm snapped out of my train of thought as the doors open. I walk into a modern open landscaped office with loads of artwork on the walls. It's colorful and it seems like a young environment. I look around, looking for someone to guide me. I head over to a blonde in her thirties, "hi, uhm I'm looking for Sophie." The woman looks at me in confusion. "well that's me" she says with a confused look. "What brings you here then?" she asks. "Oh, uhm, I'm Dianne. Molly asked me to bring me this and to say hi." She nods and takes the bag of pastries and coffee. "Molly said you might be hiring?" I ask. Great I'm making a wonderful first impression I think to myself. "Oh, well an interview couldn't hurt" Sophie smiles at me. And I follow her down the hall to a meeting room.

"So, Dianne, tell me about yourself and why are you looking for a job?"
"Well I'm 29 years old, and I moved here from Australia a few years ago. I'm in-between jobs right now. I'm a professional dancer but finding work in the dance world is not easy. I can do other things as well, and I'm a fast learner, I guess. I guess I want a fresh start and I really want. My work visa runs out in a week So if I don't find a new job to renew it, I have to head back to Australia. Oh god, I'm just rambling on aren't I." Sophie looks up from her notepad, she smiles at me.

"Dianne do you have any family, I don't see a ring on your finger, so maybe a boyfriend?" she asks. I frown and quickly blink away the tears that threatens to fall. "No, my family lives back in Australia. No boyfriend." I try to say confidently, but it does not come out that way. Sophie smiles at me. "Uhm Sophie, may I ask what the job I'm interviewing for is? Molly didn't say." Sophie Chuckles.

"Well Dianne this is kind of a weird one. So, one of our employees quit, and I'm going out for maternity leave pretty soon. I'm six months pregnant, So I will still be here for another week. You would be filling my position as a secretary, as well as the position of an escort." My brows furrow as I hear the word. "Escort? I'm not going to get paid to have sex with some old pig, am I?" I grab my bag, getting ready to walk out.

Sophie looks at me and laughs. "Oh, not like that, Dear! You would be more like a companion. Going to events, eating dinners. Just wearing pretty dresses for the evening, maybe even some dancing if you wanted to." I sit back down, pretty dresses and dancing? This could be fun after all. "So, the job requires quite a bit of traveling, are you up for that? We will of course provide you with an apartment here in the building so that you can stay close to work at all times. It's a time-consuming job, but it pays quite well if I do say so myself, she grins. Is this a job you could be interested in?"

I nod, I guess secretary could be the new me. A smile spread on sophies face. "Well Dianne, Welcome to Margravine management. Be here tomorrow at 10 am. I'll show you around the office and your new apartment. I have to a meeting now; I'll see you tomorrow?" She smiles and waves as she heads out already on the phone to someone. I get up and back to the elevator and get a cab to Amy's. This is going to take a while to explain to her.
