Once lance got home he was ecstatic and he was swinging around with the fairies (aunties) and they all questioned but put it a side he was so happy to have met someone.

After their talk lances was frozen as he walked to the castle.
I mean it's a little hard when you find out you have been Arranged to marry a man you don't know, have been cursed and was a prince the whole 18 years of his life. After they got there he was put on a room and locked there until the sun of tomorrow hit. He didn't know a certain man was on his way to meet with him in the cottage.
