In more times than not Jackson Nathaniel Teller erupted when he should have listened. Take in all the information before passing judgement. This had been one of those times. His world was in a constant uproar of pandemonium that it was hard to focus on one crisis at a time when they seemed to be constantly coming at him fast and furious from all sides, closing in around him till there would be no air left to breathe. He barely had chance to get one situation averted before he was balls deep in another. And as he stood there, seemingly nailed to the spot on the laminate floor in the apartment that had been rebuilt exactly how his father had designed it all those years ago, he felt like he couldn't get any air to his lungs no matter how deep of a breath he took. His world was closing in on him but only he could decide whether he was going to make a move to redeem himself.
How disappointed in himself he was in those few moments he stood there, recalling the words he had shouted at Scarlet. The vision of her watery eyes blurred his own, knowing what he had said was unfair and uncalled for. In his defense he hadn't been thinking nor expecting her to tell him what she had. His concentration had been on Abel, calming that situation before diving head first into another. But in reality, what defense did Jax really have? It wasn't unusual for him to push away the women he loved. The ones that were more to him at least than great tits and a piece of ass. He'd did it to Wendy, leaving her alone when she was with child, sending her straight into the loaded path of becoming a crank shooting junkie. Despite Tara returning to Charming and giving him a second chance to do right he still pushed her away. Jax knew deep down in his dark, monstrous soul if Tara hadn't passed away she would have eventually left his sorry ass. It was difficult to balance the weight of being a father, a husband and an outlaw. There were times the decisions you made affected more than just that moment in time. They affected deeply and forever. And as he shoved his roughened, dirty hands through his unruly blonde mane the undaunting awareness of what he had done overcame him. He might have yet again, pushed the one good thing in his life away. The one individual that could keep him grounded when he so very much needed it. He could have very well lost the woman he had truly started to fall in love with.
"Jesus Christ.." Finally a spark of life came to Jax, forcing him into realizing what he needed to do. All the words that leaked from his mouth earlier was bullshit. Scarlet was right, he hadn't been as careful as he thought and there was a true possibility she was in fact carrying his child. How he felt about that he was unsure but what he did know was that he couldn't let her walk out of his life. He needed her, deep down in the pit of his being he knew he needed this woman to be at his side, take on all the man that he was and all the bullshit that came along with him. But in order for her to do that he needed to be that man she needed, not one full of himself; the arrogant cunt he had recently become. He could use all the excuses in the world but reality was Jax Teller had changed. He was not the man his once was. But with Scarlet by his side he realized he could once again be the man he wanted to be.
Without allowing another thought to enter his fucked up mind, he rushed from the back room, running from the narrowed hall in an attempt to catch Scarlet before she could leave. The main room of the clubhouse was filled with people and Jax knew all eyes were on him as he brushed past, not hearing a single word anyone said, including his mother trying to gain access to his thoughts. He didn't have time for her nosey bullshit or anyone else's. He needed to get to Scarlet before she peeled out of the parking lot with a chance he'd never see her again.
He flung the door open just in time to see his tattooed beauty climbing on the back of a Harley, one drove by none other than her longtime friend and his, David Archer. He had arrived in Charming, to his knowledge at least, a few days back, looking to hook up an agreement on a gun trade in LA. With most of the shit Jax currently had piled in his fuckin' lap he hadn't made time to sit down properly with the President of the Head Hunters NY. But Jax was aware of his friendship with Scarlet; it had been established long before Jax had ever known the guy. It was only recently Scarlet had made mention of their 'best friend' status in a conversation upon David's arrival. Despite the idea invading his mind, it was suddenly there front and center.
