Many gems used to believe there wasn't more than four Diamonds to ever exist on the planet. Blue Diamond, a very mellow Diamond who treated those above her with respect and always acted in a cordial manner. She was dubbed one of the weaker Diamonds when it came to her personality. For Blue Diamond was suffering and filled with sadness and grief in her heart, she tended to be the most merciful of the Diamonds but puts on an act to coat her sorrow and misery with confidence and power. She felt as though Yellow would scold her for being weak and showing any sign of weakness.

Yellow Diamond, capable of being a powerful leader, very logical and rational. However, she was quick to anger and contained a lot of bitterness in her heart. She does not take disrespect well, and has a dangerous and lethal temper, usually treating an act of disrespect against herself or her fellow Diamonds with aggression and violence. She adored Blue Diamond with everything in her although she'd at times push her to be tougher and have a harder shell, often putting her down to humiliate the large Blue Diamond of hope and to impress the largest Diamond of the four. 

White Diamond. She held supreme authority over every gem living on Homeworld, even the Diamonds and is seen as a being like no other, a being beyond her kind. Every gem feared her and refused to ever speak her name, they knew what she was capable of and how she had top secret gems all around Homeworld listening to every conversation, hearing every word that slipped off the oblivious gems' tongues, making sure that if White or any of the Diamonds were mentioned negatively, they'd be shattered. 

One fearful trait of White's was how unforgiving she was, she had many opposers but much more supporters, mostly because they feared their life would be taken right out of their hands if they disrespected her or even thought about how awful she was. White was quite harsh when it came to punishments, Pink Diamond, the shortest of the three definitely knew what it was like and White's terrifying nature. 

The most giving and definitely most beautiful of the bunch, over-friendly but bubbly, weaker than the Diamonds above her but assertive, left out but still managed to stay positive. Pink Diamond was a wonderful Diamond, always being excluded and criticized by her fellow Diamonds because of her beliefs. Pink Diamond wanted to make a change, she wanted to spare the life on Planet Earth that the diamonds had been planning to destroy for so long. 

They didn't mean to make her feel like she didn't belong, they loved her and she truly meant so much to them but she needed to learn how to act like a true queen. She was immature, possessive, childish, spoiled, and needy, all traits that were easily despised. The Diamonds were mature, calm, and boring. Pink hated  boring. That was what it was like being in a position as high and as important as hers, you had to always appear unbothered and nonchalant, you could be going insane inside your own head and were obligated to stay calm. 

Pink had always longed to go Planet Earth, she had been on Homeworld for far too long and wanted to see other things, which was what irked the other diamonds. It was the reason they always yelled and beat her. No matter how many times they threatened to shatter her and destroy her, she stuck by her dream, she was going to go to earth. 

Together, the four Diamonds were considered The Great Diamond Authority.

 Well, there was only four, until Pastel  [G/C] Diamond. 

She was nothing but a myth to the gems on Homeworld. No one could quite place where this mysterious diamond came from or how she was created, her aesthetically pleasing multi-colored gem was founded by one of White's spies in a meteor. Yes, a meteor.

Many years ago, a Meteor as hard as a rock and as hot as lava struck Homeworld, causing a ginormous hole in the ground. Many Homeworld gems surrounded the rock from beyond the universe and many theorized about where it came from and what was inside it.

The Diamonds saw how gems weren't living their normal lives worshipping them and grew fearful that something even more powerful than them was out there because of some theories. So, White Diamond had her spies bring the heavy Meteor to her ship, and inside was the ethereal Diamond of many beautiful colors, it was mesmerizing, anyone who caught sight of it could easily fall in love with it's light and the warmth it radiated. 

As soon as it was picked up, White had discovered something extraordinary.

The pastel crystalline jewel, was one of them, in a baby form, with it's diamond located on it's [G/L], and it was a little girl. White had never seen a baby diamond, this was the first in history capable of growing up. Not one of the Diamonds knew, but White. 

She knew that she'd keep it's identity a secret, she couldn't let anyone know it existed. She'd train it all her life to be a powerful Diamond, and not to mention, it was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen.

White had seen a lot of things for the thousand years she's lived, but she's never seen a baby diamond. White was a genuinely self confident diamond, she loved herself and thought of herself as the most beautiful thing to ever be. She thought of herself as higher than any other living creature, humans, animals, gems, she even went far enough to compare herself to the other diamonds. Yes, she held more power than the three of them below her combined, but when it came to physical form, she thought of herself as more attractive. 

Until she saw it. She couldn't stop staring at it's beautiful colors and it's multi-colored eyes. Everything was perfect. The female baby diamond radiated pure love. White needed  this power, she needed  this beauty, and she didn't even know what skills it had inside of it. So instead of shattering it or converting it to suffer the same fate as her White pearl, she waited. She would let it harness it's power and see what talents it had. Then, when the time came, she'd use this power to become the strongest existing life form on the planet.

This is the story of [G/N], the first multi-colored Diamond to be born.
