It was our last ten minutes of class before we get out for Winter Break, and we were in Washington's class.  John and I finally had the chance to talk about what happened with Eliza and he finally understood I have no feelings towards her, she was just a master manipulator.  We'd been back together for two weeks, and we were doing better than ever.

After Jefferson's failed attempt to break John and I up for good, he and Eliza "split" up.  Everyone was able to piece together that they were never actually dating.  He did end up kissing Angelica in the middle of the cafeteria and we hadn't seen any of them since then.  Peggy complained that Angelica and Thomas were loud though.  To which, we all made fun of her.

I had taken the opportunity to ask John why he was hanging out with Burr again, and he said it was just to make me jealous.  It did.  However, completely unrelated to all of that, Washington extended our projects by a lot.

We had finally sent them in the other day on the due date.  Today we were "reflecting" (goofing off).  "Did anyone learn anything from this that they would like to share with the class?"

My hand shot up, but I didn't bother waiting for him to call on me before speaking.  "I'd like to share that I learned not to get your teacher involved if you're having issues in your relationships!"

John smacked my arm.  "What," I teased, "it's true.  He was useless.  This project was mostly to get us together, then he turned it into a real thing that meant something to our grades."

"Oh, my lord."

Washington cleared his throat, loosening his tie, as if it had become a noose.  "Thank you, Alex.  Anyone else?"  No one volunteered.

The final bell rang and us fiends were released into our freedom.  "Perfect timing," John whispered into my ear before pressing a warm kiss to it.  "The minute I heard it was going to snow today, I checked out."

"We gonna watch movies or go sledding and build a snowman?" I asked, brushing a snowy piece of hair from his eyes.

A mischievous glint glossed over his normally cheerful gaze.  "We are going to race in our sleds.  That clear?"

I knew he was competitive, but I never found it not funny whenever his competitive personality came through.

He just kind of got this. . . look.  He looked simultaneously angry and ready to burst with excitement.  It was so fascinating to see him get like that.  His whole body got excited.  A skip was added to his step.  It was so cute.

However, he did rarely get like this.  I only saw him like this when he was playing Mario Kart or racing (which did not exempt gym class); which I didn't get to see all that often.  It was a nice thing to see compared to the frustrated look he usually sported.

I grabbed his hand and smiled back at him.

"You're on."

We had made our plans on the day before winter break, but our plans didn't actually get carried out until four days into the actual break.  Martha had ended up taking John and his sisters to a cabin she rented for a few days (John thought it was to get away from their father, but who could say for certain), and they just got back yesterday.

He had announced his presence by rapping his knuckles against my window early on Tuesday, the morning, the day before Christmas.  I had not been expecting to see my boyfriend crouched on my roof while trying to keep his balance, holding a pretzel stick in his mouth, waving furiously happily at me, so I screamed in reaction,  You know, like a normal person.
