"Power and control, I'm gonna make you fall."

The holidays had passed and Niall and Harry were on good terms again. Unfortunately, it was the first day after the summer break and neither of them were quite as excited.

"So, do you think we are getting any hot boys this year?" Harry asked, like he did at the beginning of every year. "God, are you ever gonna stop asking that?" Liam groaned and Niall chuckled, "Wait until he's got a new boyfriend." "Not even then will I stop," Harry protested as he walked along with them into the building, "Besides that, what boyfriend?"

There was a wide grin on Liam's face. "Oh, I don't know. Maybe Zayn's partner in crime." "Louis?!" the youngest bursted out, "Never." Niall raised an eyebrow, "Yeah, sure."

Harry shoved the blond, who then shoved Liam as well. "What the hell is wrong with you two? I thought Ziall is our new OTP." "It is," Liam assured, "But, I think I would ship Larry, too." "Absolutely," Niall nodded his head and Harry frowned at him. "Is this the revenge for me calling you and Zayn cute?" Niall shrugged, laughing. "Maybe."

The curly-haired boy shook his head, his curls whipping. "Well, then so be it. Think whatever you want, but I have no interest in Louis." Liam and Niall gave each other a knowing look. "Of course, not," Liam cackled under his breath.

The first day had gone by rather quickly and the boys had got a new timetable. Nervously, Niall waited in each lesson, for one specific handsome person to walk in. But much to his regret, Zayn didn't appear in any of his classes. Niall simply hoped that he would actually get to see him in one of his classes on the other days.

The three of them were walking to the cafeteria and Niall couldn't help,  but feel his stomach growl. He hadn't eaten anything but a bite of an apple yesterday and he even started running on the treadmill to loose a few more pounds. He was already exhausted from half of the day and could barely hold his eyes open. Nevertheless, he couldn't let himself eat anything. Especially not in front of people that could judge him, and the cafeteria was full of them.

When they found a seat on the left half of the room, Liam just put his rucksack down. "I'll be right back," he told them and turned on his heel. "Where are you going?" Niall asked him curiously and Liam opened his mouth, but Harry answered for him. "To Sophia, obviously. Where else?" he muttered with a snarky voice. Liam scowled. "What's that supposed to mean, Harry?" The youngest simply shrugged his shoulders, looking Liam straight in the eye. "Maybe, that you, I don't know-- replaced Danielle with that girl?"

Niall watched them with big eyes. This was not going to end well. Albeit, he had to agree with Harry as it seemed weird the two had split so suddenly. "Who I date is my decision," Liam glared at the younger boy, "Danielle and I simply didn't fit anymore." "Sure and that is also of course, why you've been hanging out with Sophia this much lately," Harry said disapprovingly.

Niall felt like it was time to intervene when he saw Liam's head starting to turn red. "Guys, I think we should leave this topic alone," he said sternly. "Tell that to him," Liam spat, took his bag and walked away with angry steps.

The blond took a deep breath. That had been intense.

"You didn't say anything, Niall," Harry said suddenly. Niall looked at him and then onto the empty spot where Liam's rucksack had just been. "I just think that maybe Liam and Danielle haven't been that happy for a longer time. We just didn't know."

Harry huffed, "Then why didn't he tell us?" The two of them locked eyes, both knowing that Liam had been removing himself from the boys lately. "I don't know," Niall mumbled and gave Harry a faint look.
