OMG Guys, my book is ranked 15 in Cyber I'm FREAKING OUT IM SO EXCITED
Charlie and I sat on the bus, her bag sitting on her lap. Charlie held the bag securely as we were jostled on the bus. We reached our stop in no time and Charlie got off the bus, taking care not to let me bump into anyone.
I heard doors slide open and looked up to see fluorescent lights hanging from a ceiling. I stood up and peeked out of the bag. Charlie headed straight to the produce section, basket in hand, and started comparing potatoes. Charlie chose the best one before putting it in her basket.
"What are you making?" I asked quietly. Charlie fishes her phone out of her pocket before holding the end of her phone towards her mouth.
"Vegetables on pita bread with avocado." She said into the phone.
"Yum." I replied. It was a smart idea, so she wasn't seen talking to herself.
"Do you want anything?" Charlie asked into the phone again.
"No... actually, could you get a step to make it easier to use the toilet?" I asked. A step would make it tons easier.
"Sure, I have to grab a couple of things first." Charlie replied. Charlie left the fresh produce section. We went down another isle, with me ducking my head when I saw people.
Charlie slowly filled up her basket. We got to the home isle and Charlie started talking again.
"Okay, see anything you want?" Charlie said, making a show of turning around her phone to face the shelves.
"Could you please get the grey one?" I asked.
"Sure." Charlie replied. "Okay, I gotta go, bye." Charlie said before putting her phone back in her pocket. Charlie grabbed the step and started walking towards the register. Charlie paid for her items and left the supermarket.
As we sat in a bus shelter, Charlie reached into my bag and started stroking me absentmindedly. It felt nice, the air had a bit of a chill to it. Her warm hand went down my back again before Charlie shifted.
The bus was approaching. Charlie stood up and boarded the bus. It was a short trip home. It was only four o'clock when we arrived back at Charlie's place.
Charlie set the bag on the table and put all of the stuff that needed to go in the refrigerator away. Charlie grabbed the step before going into the bathroom and placing it in front of the toilet for me. I jumped up and tested it out, it was definitely easier.
"Thanks." I tell her.
"No worries." Charlie replied with a smile. "Do you want to watch TV for a while?" Charlie asked.
"Sure."
We go and sit on the couch before Charlie turns on the TV. She flicks through the channels.
"There's nothing I really want to watch on, is there anything you want to watch?" Charlie asked me.
"No, can we do something else instead?" I asked. Charlie turned off the TV.
"Would you like to play chess?" Charlie asked me.
"Sure, I don't really know how to play but could you teach me?" I replied. I have always wanted to learn to play chess but it just never seemed to happen.
"Of course, let me get my chess board." Charlie said before vanishing down the hall. She returned a minute later and sat down on the couch before setting up the board on the coffee table.
The chessboard was a work of art in and of itself. The chess board was hand carved, with a small sun in every white space and a small moon in every black space. The boarder of the chess board was carved with little swirls and each row and column were numbered and lettered. The chess pieces were equally as impressive. The black pieces had white moons painted on each one while the white pieces had little suns on them. All of them were beautifully stained and had been sanded and polished to a shine.
