We sat together in the lounge area of the private jet as the sun began to peek over the horizon. We were an odd bunch, three cats, two dogs, a crow, a mouse, a vampire, five warlocks and a child.
Even though we boarded at three am and took every measure to avoid people it was impossible to avoid all of them we and we attracted a lot of looks. And if I was being honest with myself, I wasn't sure who attracted more looks, us familiars or the two trussed up women. They had been sedated and separated as soon as we got on the plane thankfully.
Lee had healed both Ellen and Charlie of their concussions and soft tissue damage, though in true big brotherly fashion he had thoroughly ripped through Charlie about running into fights she was in equipped to deal with. Charlie sat there staring at her feet and nodding meekly before hugging her brother. Lee had forgiven her immediately. Right now Lee was sitting next to Charlie and I and they had fallen asleep huddled together.
Lauren and Ben had taken Lee's car back to Charlie's place and promised to let every one back home know where we all would be. Before they left, they made us promise we'd call them every day.
Now we all sat in this flying tin can on the way to a city in the middle of nowhere to try a witch for her crimes. We weren't sure why Ai had attacked Eleanor or what would happen to her once we got to Almusilaa. Neither did I know what would happen to Sam. He sat with Ellen. Ellen had found a pre-packed suitcase in his wardrobe, much to everyone's unease.
Just another mystery that might never be solved.
I had reunited with my fellow former captives. They were told by Eleanor that I had been killed. Cooper had a hard time letting go of me while Grace had kept her distance. Grace's leg had been hurt badly, but Lee had healed her. From what I could gather, Eleanor had lashed out at her when she failed a mission.
Charlie's and my fears were proven true; Eleanor had created three more familiars. Their names were Nicole, Daniel and Jack. In a cruel twist of fate, the over enthusiastic man from the pet stock had been kidnapped the day we met him and had his consciousness put in a cat's body.
I also got to meet the other familiar who had been away when I was there, his name was Tyler. Most of the other familiars were huddled up together on the furtherest side of the plane away from Eleanor.
Victor had told us that after Eleanor had been charged we would be able to get our bodies back.
As the sun crossed my face, I kept watch for Almusilaa out of the plane window. I was nervous about going to a city full of powerful creatures but I was wish Charlie. I took a break from looking out of the window to glance at Charlie.
Her head was on Lee's shoulder as she slept. Her mouth hung open a bit in her sleep. She looked peaceful. I knew I could trust her.
I turned back to the window in case anyone caught me staring. Looking out at the desert, I waited in anticipation. Soon it would be all over.

Hey guys, it's the end of the book and wow, what a ride. I had so much fun writing this, this is my first completed novel at around 40,000 words. I was so scared I would lose my motivation to write this book like the five others I have started and lost interest in over the years. My main focus was to get the main story out and there were bound to be plot holes but I just had to get this story out of me. I really hope you enjoyed this book.
