Stop Putting Your Heart Out

Look at all these people,
Talking about love.
As if someone took conscience,
And tied it to a cloud above.

They don't stop dreaming,
They don't stop talking.
They think love is everlasting,
And for it they keep walking.

But then they get hurt.
Their heart is broken.
They're like a machine,
No longer accepting tokens.

I see it happen all the time.
Love at first sight,
The heartbreak,
Then the dreadful blight.

People allow this to happen.
They get sad and jealous.
They're too easily hurt.
No longer allowed zealous.

I simply watch over and over.
I wonder why they continue it.
I'm happy not falling in love.
Love doesn't hurt me one bit.

Then again,
The only love I feel,
Is for my closest family.
The purity is my true zeal.

To love in romance,
That is nothing to me.
To love in truth,
It's everything that can be.

Stop putting your heart out,
If it keeps getting chipped at.
Just make some friends,
And keep it at just that.
