Sleeping Flower

Oh sleeping flower,
I see you're closing.
It's the darker hour.
You are dozing.

I know it's late,
But I ask a favor.
I know the moon that you hate,
But in it's light I see you waver.

In the full silvery glow,
I want you to open to me.
Think it as a spotlight to your show.
I know you want to be free.

Though you grew up in the sun,
The moon is quite alone.
In her light you might have fun.
Despite her being the color of bone.

At least you can see her light.
She doesn't make you blind.
Bloom in her beautiful night,
And tell her what's on your mind.

You can trust her,
Believe me when I tell you.
She'll give you a night to remember,
You won't have to open to morning dew.

Open your petals of red.
For we want to see,
The pretty petals on your head,
Just between us three.

Oh sleeping flower,
Open up for me.
It is the brightest nightly hour.
Come and be free.
