Eyesight

Nagisa [POV]

I didn't really want to sleep, I knew the darkness would take me like that.  Though, I was exhausted.  I hated everything about this, I couldn't speak, I couldn't even remember anyone.  The only one I knew was Karma.  Why couldn't I remember?  Why is this happening to me?  I laid down on my side facing away from the door.  I didn't sleep though I didn't want to close my eyes.  The sound of footsteps coming into the room made me sit up.  Standing in the doorway was a tall man with black spiked hair and mean narrow eyes.

"Nagisa how are you feeling?" The man asked, he seemed so familiar but at the same time I couldn't remember.  I picked up the notepad and started to write.  Can't speak but I'm feeling better.  I smiled handing the notepad to him.  He smiled back

"That's good and I expect to see you back in class as soon as your leg is healed" When he smiled his mean eyes softened, I nodded

"Well I'll let you rest I hope you get your voice back soon" He waved bye as he shut the door behind him.  I hoped that I did fine as to not raise much alarm.  I felt so powerless not being able to speak and barely being able to move around.  No, that's not true I can more, I'm not trapped anymore.  At least for now I'm not.  I scooted over to the bed grabbing the two crutches on the bed next to me.  Shoving to notepad and pencil in my pocket I made my way to the door opening it slowly as to not make a sound.  I walked through the building trying my hardest to remember how to get to the exit.  I passed a classroom and walking past it I found the exit.  Warm air blew my hair around, the sun was bright in the sky lighting up the entire building.  I felt better being able to be outside.  I walked over to the edge of the woods.  Sitting down leaning against a tree I leaned my head back against the trunk setting my crutches down next to me.  I listened to the birds chirping overhead.  It was relaxing, I felt calmer.  I don't know how long I sat there but soon I fell asleep.

Karma [POV]

When the bell rung I hurried out of the classroom going to check up on Nagisa.  Kayano trailing behind me.  When I Opened the door though I only saw empty beds.  Nagisa was gone

"You've got to be kidding me" I complained

"What?" Kayano asked stepping through the doorway seeing the empty debs "Where did he go I thought you said he wouldn't leave"

"I didn't THINK he would leave" I stepped into the room trying to find anything to say where he had gone.  There was only discarded paper on the floor from our previous conversation

"Karma, Kayano how is Nagisa doing?" Korosensei asked appearing in the doorway

"I wouldn't know he's gone" I moaned

"His bag and stuff is here so it's not like he went too far" Kayano pointed out pointing to his bag

"That's good that means he must still be on the mountain" Korosensei exclaimed

"We need to find him" I insisted

"Where would we even start?" Kayano asked

"Well the last time he ran off he went into the woods so I think we should start there" I thought outloud

"That narrows it down to" she paused for a second "This entire mountain"

"No we don't have to search the school" I pointed out

"He isn't deep into the woods I can smell where he is" Korosensei explained

"And you are just saying this now?" Kayano raised one eyebrow

"Well I didn't know exactly where he was before but I do now" he told us

"Lead the way" I instructed as we followed Korosensei outside across from the school into the woods.  He went in and led us to a tree.  I could briefly see Nagisa's crutches from the other side.  Walking around the tree I found Nagisa sitting against the tree sleeping

"Why'd he come all the way out here?" Kayano asked

"How would I know?" I shrugged "He has always liked these woods though" I knelt down beside Nagisa shaking him gently.  He opened his eyes slowly.  He seemed surprised to see me for a second it didn't seem like he remembered me by the horror I could see in his eyes before he slowly started to relax.

"What are you doing out here Nagisa?" I asked as he pulled out the notepad and pencil out of his pocket and started to write his hands trembling.  You scared me Karma I didn't recognize you at first but I still don't remember anything, I was hoping getting some fresh air would help but it didn't.

"How do you feel?" Kayano asked, Nagisa looked down at his notepad writing slowly he handed the note to me and I read it quickly before handing it Kayano.  Not as stressed but my voice hasn't gotten any better though now I can't see very well.

"You can't see?" Kayano asked nervously, Nagisa handed her another paper

"Right, not very well" she corrected herself, Korosensei went in front of Nagisa looking into his eyes.  Nagisa jumped and tried to scoot back but ran into the tree.  He soon recognized Korosensei from before and relaxed a bit letting Korosensei look at his eyes

"Your left eye seems a bit cloudy though the right eye seems a bit better" Korosensei explained after a bit of awkward silence.  When Korosensei finally let go of Nagisa and backed away he finally relaxed fully

"What should we do?" I asked

"I don't think there is anything we can do but wait it out" Korosensei explained, Nagisa handed me a piece of paper.  Why is this happening?  What's going on?  I don't like any of this.  I thought of what to say, I had to be careful of what I said to him I didn't want to scare him anymore than he already is

"It's going to be okay Nagisa I bet by tomorrow your voice and memories will be back alright?" Nagisa didn't look very convinced "Trust me Nagisa I know it will turn out okay" Nagisa still looked unsure but nodded slowly.  A few moments of silence passed of us trying to think of something but I could tell Nagisa was starting to panic again by his sped up breathing though it wasn't too loud or raspy.  Nagisa squinted at his notepad as he wrote something else down in very sloppy handwriting.  I can't see anything, everything is blurry now.  I looked at Nagisa, His eyes were much more foggy than they were before

"We should get back inside before it gets dark" I instructed standing up and helping Nagisa.  He picked up his crutches leaning on them

"Alright it will be getting dark soon and we don't want to be stuck in the woods in the dark" Korosensei agreed leading the way out of the darkening woods.  I stayed beside Nagisa leading him away from anything he could run into.  When we got back to the school everyone had already left as I thought.  When we went back to the nurses office Nagisa sat down on the bed.  I heard a phone ringing and immediately checked my own but it wasn't mine.
