You know, it's kind of hard to forget weird things like having a big pole in your locker. This is something that will make me forget about it. It seems like the whole world stops a minute. And then it all breaks into chaos. People start screaming and running for cover, some run to grab teachers. But I'm to shocked to move.
Then the announcements come on. "ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS AND STAFF!" it blares. "WE ARE IN A RED ALERT LOCKDOWN! STAY CALM, THIS IS NOT A DRILL! SEEK SHELTER NOW!" And then the halls are suddenly empty. It seems like I'm the only person in school right now. And then somebody grabs my arm and drags me to the nearest room. They throw me in there and then a teacher locks the door.
I turn around and I see the boy that grabs me. "What were you doing? Didn't you hear the announcement?" he wispers at me as we get shoved to the corner.
"Yah, but I was kind of still shocked. Who are you?"
"I'm Collin," he says
"I'm Ian." I crawl under the desk and he follows me. "Kind of scary, isn't it?"
"Yah. But everything is gonna be okay."
I hope so. And then somebody bangs on the door and it flies open. Everyone flinches. I can see through a little hole in the desk and I see a man in his mid twenties standing with his gun pointed.
At us.
