(Suddenly, it's morning. JEREMY bolts up in bed, woken up by the sound of this alarm. Looks around. Did that really just happen? A beat.)

JEREMY
(whispering) Hello? (he taps his head) Are you on? (louder) Hellooo???

JEREMY'S DAD
(off-stage)Jeremy? Are you talking to yourself?

JEREMY
I... Guess I am. Huh.

(He shrugs and reaches for his computer.)

"Not againnnnnn," Jake groans, not wanting to hear Jeremy's masturbation theme yet again.

Jeremy sighs and puts his head down.

JEREMY
C-C-C-C'MON, C-C-C-C'MON, GO—

(He reaches for his computer... and gets a shock.)

JEREMY

THE SQUIP
What did we say about masturbation?

JEREMY
(voice cracking and obviously lying) I was gonna check my email-

THE SQUIP
You can't lie to me, Jeremy. I'm inside your brain. Now we're going to devise a system. I tally every time you think about sex, and that's how many push-ups you do. If this morning is an indicative sample, you'll have pecs in no time.

Brooke suddenly realizes something.

"Wait Rich... is this why you used to do random pushups....?" she asks slowly, looking disgusted.

Rich looks away and mumbles, "... maybe-"

(JEREMY'S DAD enters.)

JEREMY'S DAD
Coming through, private.

THE SQUIP
That's the source of your genetic material?

JEREMY
That is.... my dad-

THE SQUIP
(slightly amused) We should double those push-ups.

"Maybe it would have been more valuable to get him a gym membership-" the squip follows up.

Christine gasps, "YOU TAKE THAT BACK, YOU-YOU- YOU MEANIE-"

The squip rolls its eyes and doesn't follow up, causing Christine to triumphantly smile.

She mumbles, "I have defended him well-"

(JEREMY heads out of the house. He's wearing his new Eminem T-shirt. As in the opening scene, we see him on the bus. However, there seems to be no sign of Michael anywhere. JEREMY arrives at school, where he runs into CHLOE, BROOKE, and JENNA. To his surprise, they wave.)

JEREMY
STILL NOT GONNA BE THE COOL GUY
BUT MAYBE NOT SO LEFT OUT
OF ALL THE CHARACTERS AT SCHOOL

"I'm sorry, but characters?? Why not 'kids' or 'teens' or 'people??'" Jenna remarks.

Jeremy simply shrugs and says, "I was feeling fancy...?"

I MIGHT BE THE ONE WHO THE STORY'S ABOUT

JEREMY AND SQUIP
NOW THAT SOMEONE'S HELPING ME (YOU) OUT

(At a nearby locker, RICH calls out to JEREMY.)
