Hello, I should be going to sleep right now, but I figured I should publish this first since I finished it earlier. Enjoy~

Michael gets into a room and slams the door, locking it. He leans his back up against the wall, attempting to settle his breathing. The silent darkness of the room allows him to collect his thoughts and calm himself, regaining his composure. Wiping his face, he sorts through his through the scattered fragments of what just happened and his thoughts on the whole situation.
'It wasn't fair to lash out like that. Brooke was only trying to help.. And neither Rich nor she deserved that,' Michael thinks, flipping the light switch on in the room. The lights illuminate the small, quaint room. It appears to be some sort of small bedroom. A few glow in the dark star stickers decorate the lilac walls. Michael smiles. It seems like a young child's room. He slowly strides towards a bunk bed in the center of the right wall. Looking up, he notices a ladder allowing him to get on top of the bed.
Slowly, Michael climbs up the ladder and sits on top of top of the dusty mattress, covered with pillows, books, toys, and stuffed animals that had long since been forgotten. He surveys the room from the new vantage point, allowing his thoughts to consume him once more.
'What about Jeremy?' echoes in his mind. After all, Michael did specifically retreat from him. Taking a deep breath, Michael sorts through what details Jeremy had shared with him before about the SQUIP.... and what he had seen firsthand.
'Shocked him.. it shocked him so much... It verbally abused him... telling him he wasn't good enough-'
He stops himself. He... he started to feel bad. It hurt Jeremy. 'It convinced him that I was the problem... No... No, no pity... I can't feel pity for him. I don't want to- He's an asshole... right...?'
Michael thinks back to before the SQUIP. Jeremy had seemed... depressed...? He usually hung his head low and kept to himself, and always looked on the verge of tears... 'Wait...'
How had he not noticed how his best friend was hurting before?
'If I had helped him, he wouldn't have gotten the SQUIP... he wouldn't have abandoned me...'
The realization hit Michael like a truck going 75 on the interstate. It wasn't all Jeremy's fault. He was to blame for part of this, yes... But Michael had his own fair share of blame, too.
If he'd noticed and helped his friend more, it might've turned out differently. The SQUIP could've been avoided entirely. Hanging his head, he realizes what he must do. He owes Jeremy an apology. Michael had received countless apologies from Jeremy, yet he neglected to admit his own faults. He's tired of this endless blame game.
Sure, he's still angry, but it's time to accept this and move on. Maybe it'll help get rid of the tension.
Sucking in a deep breath of air, Michael hops off the top bunk and moves towards the door to the small bedroom. This time, he was going to set things right. Just as he opens the door, he hears frantic and desperate voices letting out a bone-chilling scream, one that made him scramble downstairs as fast as he possibly could, past Rich, Brooke, and Christine all coming up to talk to him, and add his own shout once he sees the reason.
"JEREMY-"
