Chapter 12: An Anime That Inspires

Benjiro nodded and Akumu rummaged through her bag looking for the CD. "I downloaded a whole season onto this cd! Have you heard of 'Gintama'? We're watching that today." Akumu said.

Benjiro nodded with enthusiasm, he wanted to watch that anime for awhile now but got so caught up with reading <Happy Sugar Life>. Akumu then placed the cd into the cd reader and the opening of 'Gintama' played.

After a few episodes, Benjiro was finally understanding the plot of the anime. It was those comedy anime which did not make sense but was still funny in the end. There were some things Akumu and Benjiro related to and discussed about it during the anime. There was one guy named Gintoki who has Long silver hair that touched the shoulders like Benjiro and another guy named Hijikata who had very short hair and always wore sunglasses. As another episode played, there was a cutscene.

"Hijikata! I just finished buying <Jump>!" Gintoki called, <Jump> was his favourite manga.

"Oh Ginto-, eh?" Hijikata's expression became curious as he investigated Gintoki's hair.

"Gintoki, you cut your hair?" Hijikata touched his hair as he never thought that Gintoki would ever get the thought of cutting his hair.

"Yeah, why? Does it look bad?" Gintoki asked.

"No it doesn't, it actually looks good on you!" Hijikata complemented Gintoki.

"I knew it! Short is in, right?" Gintoki smiled a victorious grin.

"Yeah! At least you look less like a girl now..." Hijitaka said with a mischievous grin.

"How dare you call me girly! I look more like a man than you!" The two continued arguing for awhile.

Benjiro and Akumu laughed. "Hehe, I never thought Gintoki would cut his hair, he was always so cautious about his looks and everything." Akumu said.

Benjiro agreed. Watching the anime, Benjiro thought, "Maybe I should cut my hair to look more like a boy than a girl...but I like my long hair... I'll think about it."
