   "Chat, look what I got!"

Adrien opened up one eye to see a glowing red dot in front of him. It just sat there, taunting—teasing his cat mind to chase and catch it. He resisted this feline temptation but it somehow infested, making his back hairs stand a little.

He was ready to pounce on it, black slits becoming giant circles that practically filling his eyes. What am I doing, he thought. The blonde's tail swished back and worth before pouncing on the teasing dot.

Marinette stood off to the side, snickering and enjoyed playing with the black cat. She started to grow attached to Chat, but would never admit it out loud to her parents. He seemed to be her only friend besides Alya, Nino and Nathaniel.

Yet, it seemed only Nathaniel was her closest thing to a friend. Ever since Alya and Nino started dating, Marinette was erased from the picture. Her best friend grew further and further away until it was just talking on occasions.

The only topic between them was about homework and projects. It seemed no matter how hard the bluenette tried, things would never be the same.

Marinette was right but didn't seem to mind. After finding Chat, she felt less lonely and cared for with his presence around. It helped in more ways than one with the bullying and friends distancing from her (even homework could get stressful every now and then). It was good to find a special someone to get rid of it for a while.

"Get back here, or I'll sue you!" Adrien meowed, angrily. He ran into furniture, knocked over many utilities off Marinette's desk and almost scratched a few things. The room was a disastrous mess afterwards which took the bluenette an hour to clean.

Adrien sat on the chaise the whole time watching bored and occasionally licking his paws. After the room was cleaned, she picked up the confused black cat, wriggling in her grasp, and went up onto the loft.

"Where are we going?" He thought as Marinette set him down for a moment. Curious green eyes watched the girl unlatch a hook on the skylight and opening it. A nice spring breeze blew in and warmth from the sun's rays joined the mixture.

Adrien blinked when feeling himself being lifted again and placed outside on a balcony. Marinette joined him shortly afterwards then shut the skylight. This was his chance to escape and get out of here to find a way to change back.

"There has to be a way off of this balcony without disposing one of my nine lives," Adrien muttered to himself.

"It was a really nice day outside so I thought we could come up here for a little bit," the bluenette explained, sitting on a beach chair. Adrien wandered over to the railing when a wonderful smell hit his nose.

His ears drooped dreamily, grinning like an idiot if he was still human. His mind went hazy and cleared, filling itself with the addicting smell. He just wanted to roll around on the floor and meow delightfully wanting whatever this drug was.

"Chat, are you ok—oh wait! I forgot there is catnip up here!" Marinette said, facepalming. "I'm going to need to get rid of it or else you're going to keep acting like you're on drugs."

Adrien just now noticed that he was rolling around on the floor, meowing and purring to his heart's content. He didn't realize how ridiculous he looked with how much a glorious smell could make him act drunk.

The bluebell eyed girl picked up the dazed cat who began to rub her shoulder and collarbone affectionately. She laughed a little and went back down into her room through the skylight. Adrien was still high on catnip though. He unknowingly began to lick Marinette's cheek, making the clumsy girl laugh more.

"Awe, Minou!" She cooed, as he rubbed his head against her cheek. The two were practically hugging each other while Marinette sat on her bed while holding the human-minded cat high on catnip.

It didn't matter how much Adrien tried to get through the haziness of his mind, thinking with clear thoughts was off the table of ideas. Part of his cat-like mind and senses wouldn't allow him to realize the situation that was happening, like a drunk man couldn't stop drinking.

It seemed pats were pretty addicting to his fevered mind like on autopilot without the common sense behind it.

"How much catnip did you inhale? I didn't think you'd be this out of it for this long," Marinette questioned, joylessly smiling down at the animal of bad luck. Chat has never showed so much affection for her before but couldn't blame him. He was under the spell of catnip after all.

It saddened the girl a little to think that all it took to get Chat's affection was to make him high. Yet, she enjoyed it nonetheless and occasionally, returned her own gentle nuzzles on the top of his head.

Adrien didn't know why he sniffed her but wasn't complaining.

"You s-smell like g-good sssstttuuuff, Princess," Adrien spoke deliriously. He was being to come back down from his high and everything was becoming clearer. It was then he also started realizing what was happening and struggled to get out of the girl's arms.

Marinette obliged with his command, setting him down on the bed and shutting the skylight. Adrien's ears drooped grumpily with how close he was to escaping. He was so close! If it weren't for that catnip then he'd high tail it out of here.

Maybe he could think of something else to escape. Adrien climbed down then scanned the room for any ideas. Green eyes met an all to familiar face he knew very well. His own.

Of course! If he could somehow communicate with Marinette that that was him then...oh, who was he kidding. No matter how hard he tried, she still wouldn't understand anything. Only Tikki could understand him.

"Hey, Chat! You want to play with the laser pointer again?" The bluenette offered, reaching for the toy. Adrien's ears perked up at the notion and was about to hide when the red dot appeared in front of him.

Adrien ran around, chasing the dot once again when the game ended with another messy room and colliding his head straight on with the wall.

"Chat, are you okay?" Marinette asked, kneeling down next to the model, whose head pounded.

"No, I haven't been okay since being turned into a giant hairball then stuck living here with you," he snarled back. "P.S. have I ever told you that you are just as annoying as that witch. Actually, scratch that, the witch is more annoying."

The bluebell eyed teen gave the black cat an odd look before smiling.

"You're cute when your grumpy, you know that," she said, scratching behind his ear. Adrien huffed, pawing her hand away very offended with her comment.

"You wouldn't be calling me that if you knew who I was," he growled, trying to look intimidating. It worked on his behalf as Marinette quickly recoiled away frightened that he would scratch her again.

Adrien walked around her and went to lay on the chaise as she began to pick up the room silently. It was weird with it so quiet in the room when Marinette was here. She would usually play music or talk his ears off while doing something. He must of upset her.

"Why are girls so complicated?" He grumbled before turning, his back facing the girl. Then he went to sleep with an uncomfortable feeling of guilt.
