Chapter Fifteen

                 ~Brennen's P.O.V~

I woke up in a strange place. A hospital. I must have over dosed, can't say it's the first time either. I used to wake up in unfamiliar places a lot. Hospitals, bars, allies, you name it. I scanned the room and realized that both Jake and my mother had fallen asleep in the chairs set in the corner and to the side of my bed. I can't say it made me happy to wake up here again, to have to start over and tell the newer people in my life about my past. Speaking of I saw no sign of the one person I expected to be there, Colby. Jake and my mom always came even though I always made it out alive, but Colby didn't know that. He didn't know if I had made it and honestly now I'm wishing I hadn't. I didn't mean to O.D but it showed me how much he really didn't care. I got up, seeing as laying in bed feeling like shit probably wasn't going to do much good. I spotted a note labeled "Brennen" in Colby's handwriting, "pfft". I quickly reached for it, throwing it in the garbage and continuing to the bathroom. I threw some water on my face as I peered into the mirror, immediately noticing the bags under my eyes. I heard rustling behind me and quietly said "here we go again". Jake was standing behind me, a mixture of disgust and disappointment plastered on his face.

"Do you understand what you put her through, again? You understand that she worries about you anyway, right? I thought you were clean, I thought you actually cared about staying that way? Why would you do this again?"

Jake's words seemed to pierce straight through my heart like a sword made of words. Tears began to flood my eyes, soon finding their way down my face. He started towards me with his arms open. With an almost silent "I'm sorry", he gave me a hug. I looked over his shoulder to see our mom still asleep. Sadness blanketing her even in her sleep and I felt bad that I put her through this yet again.
"Jake"
"Yeah"
"Did he even show up?"
"He found you, did CPR to the point of exhaustion, and made sure you got here safely. They told me he left but only after they had assured him you'd be ok." 

Sorry it's so short guys, it's late and I wanted to put something up so this is what you get and if it's bad I apologize. Just saying if I were in this situation and had this conversation with one of my siblings I'd be crying too 🤷🏻‍♀️ anyway I hope you enjoy and if you're reading this I love and appreciate you and hope life is treating you right because you deserve it. Alright that's all I guess :)
