Connor

~~~~~~~~~~~
I was seated at my favorite bar, it was one of the places I usually came to to think. And now it was quite obvious what or who I came to think of. Stella.
After she informed me that we accepted Finn's proposal, I went berserk. I couldn't take hold of myself, was grateful she said on phone or else she would notice my anger if she said it in person.
She sounded very excited, that made me happy just that it hurt I wasn't the one giving her that happiness-
"Well, well, well" a hand clapped from behind. I swiftly turned toward its direction my eyes blazing when I saw who it was. Bloody Nick!
"-if it isn't Connor Slade" he smirked. "The guy who cared so much of his image, he was ready to betray his best friend"
"What do you want Nick?!" I snapped, my jaw clenching. He didn't just come to make fun of me, did he?
"Woah! Hold your horses man!" He laughed, sitting next to me.
I rolled my eyes. "Leave, Foxx" I  dared him. His eyes narrowed as they glared at me. That was in the past, now he couldn't  joke with me anymore. Didn't he understand that?!
"What you don't want me around anymore? Come on, we're friends" he pat my back smiling mischievously.
"Not anymore"
"Is it because of Stella?" He wiggled his eyebrows at me. I tried hard to hold my anger in. This guy was driving me nuts!
"Shut up! Don't you dare take her name!" I stood up and threw the glass of wine on the floor. He comes here and he already has me breaking things!.
"What?" He smiled. "You're afraid to remember what you did to her? To Stella Parker?" He mocked. "So called best fri-"
That was it, I couldn't take his crap anymore. I punched him in the face. He stumbled back, wiping blood off his lips. He laughed humorlessly. "This isn't over Slade" he warned  me walking backwards and exiting the bar. I sat back down on the stool rudely asking the crowd that was forming to back off. People were inquisitive these days...
I returned to sipping my drink when a voice spoke behind me making me freeze.
"What did you do to Stella?"
Crap!
He comes here too?. I stiffened refusing to turn around. Did this have to happen now?!
I felt his presence behind me closer meaning he had stepped close behind me. I pretended not to have heard anything and focused on the drink in front of me.
"You know her?" He asked again, this time sitting right next to me on the other stool. I frowned still not looking at him.
"It happened long ago" I stated shrugging nonchalantly.
"So she was your best friend" he asked...more like stated. I nodded and rubbed my face.
"Look, I don't want to talk about it" I brushed him off. He scoffed.
"Well, I do! That's my girlfriend we're talking about here!" He roared.
To hell with you!
"So what?!" I yelled, this time I faced him.
"I don't want to talk about it and that's final" I stood up getting ready to walk out.
But he grabbed my arms and stopped me. I glared at him. He signed. "Alright. I get it, it's personal so I won't bug you." I nodded and walked out of the bar.
This is Nick's fault. If only he just shut his mouth up! I think I have to change the bar I go to now.
Stella
"Mom!" Tiny hands wrapped around my legs once I entered the house. I laughed and picked my son up kissing his cheek. He blushed and covered his face, laughing. His face suddenly turned angry as he glared at something behind me. I rolled my eyes. Typical.
"Who the shit are you?" He snapped glaring hard at Finn. Finn gasped, his jaw falling to his knees, shocked at my son's choice of words.
I scolded him. "Nev! Don't talk like that"
He turned his eyes on me and they quickly softened. "Why not? I don't know him"
I put him down. "Still, that wasn't the right way to ask"
"It is. Since I'm the only man here" he pouts. I sighed.
"Well, you better get used to seeing him around here, now" I stood up smiling at Finn. He looked like he still hadn't come out of the shock.
He nudged his arm. "Granted, your son doesn't like me" he laughed, but I know he was hurt inside. I lowered my gaze.
"Don't mind him. He's just not used to male company" I defended him. Well, he's the second from Connor.
"What's your name?" Fin asked lowering to Nev's height. Nev smirked, folding his arms on his chest, clearly, he wasn't impressed. I rolled my eyes.
"Nev. What about you?" He quickly said. Finn smiled.
"I'm Finn Cross, but you can call me Finn" he smiled warmly. Nev burst out laughing and covered his face. Finn looked surprised shooting me look. I shifted uncomfortably, Nev....
"Reminds of a fish fin!" He blurted out, still laughing. I bit my lip to stop myself from laughing. Finn smiled tightly and glared at me. "And I don't want fish fins lurking around my home.." Nev wiped his eyes. "Anyway you're welcome" he walked in to the living room.
I smiled apologetically at Finn.  "I'm sorry Finn,"
"It's okay. He's going to need time" he hugged me pulling me in for a kiss. One which I didn't resist.
"Hold your horses, fish fin. Come check out my room!" Nev grabbed his hand and tugged him up stairs. I smiled and walked into the kitchen. Aunt Gina was there preparing our supper. Oh God! I forgot to tell her that I'll be bringing another mouth. I laughed at my own words.
"I heard a man's voice" aunt Gina chirped. I chuckled.
"Well, you heard right. He's with Nev in his room" I told her.
She hugged me and cupped my cheeks in her palm. "I'm glad you considered him" she smiled. "Now let's set  the table"
After having dinner, sun Gina retired to sleep leaving Finn, my son and I in the living room. I caught Finn observing Nev with a strange expression on his face. I nudged his arm and he quickly looked at me smiling.
"Why do you keep staring at him?" I asked.
"He looks like someone" he shrugged pulling me in for a hug and turned his eyes back on Nev.
"Mommy" Nev stood up and sat between us, I laughed when Finn shifted and rolled his eyes muttering a few curses under his breathe. "I want to sleep" he rubbed his eyes.
I lifted him up and took him to his room, laying him in bed. I kissed his head and walked out, pausing when he called for me again.
"Tell fish fin to go home, it's  getting late" he turned to the side, probably to block his ears from hearing what I had to say. I stood there in shock for a minute and walked.
Finn stood at the door and smiled when he saw me. "I have to leave, Stella. Promise I'll see you tomorrow" he said in a low voice.
I nodded and hugged him, inhaling his divine Cologne before retiring to sleep. He slowly pecked my lips and walked out.
