Later that evening, the four friends are at dinner in the Rose building. Most of their friends are with them too. Who has joined them is Trevor, Tierno, and Sawyer. All seven of them are gathered around a table, enjoying each other's company and catching up with one another. But, Ash wasn't concentrating on them; he was rather looking out for the peculiar girl he's been thinking about all day.

When no one was talking to him, he would have a quick glance around the venue for her. But, all he could see was other trainers that look nothing like the girl who he was intrigued by. When he could not spot her, he ended up just joining back into the conversation with his friends.

A few minutes pass, and then the Kalos League board members stand up on a glorious stage, tapping a wine glass with a fork to gather the attention of all other trainers. The silence grew to the sound of the wine glass, and the trainers turn their head towards who made the noise.

An elderly man who held the wine glass stood up. Beside him are two people on either side of him. Professor Sycamore stood farthest to the left; next to him was a man with very red clothing and bright orange hair. To the elderly man's right was Diantha, the Kalos League Champion, and then on the very end was another unrecognisable man. After the man had stopped striking at the glassware, he proceeds to speak. All four members on the stage begin to rise, and all trainers off of the stage look up at what the man has to say.

"Dear participants, it is my greatest honour and pleasure to welcome you all to the 53rd annual Kalos League. My name is Sir Michael, and I am the Chairman of the league. Allow me to introduce the rest of my board to you all. Farthest left is the profound Professor Sycamore, next is the prestigious Lysandre, and following him is the amazing Diantha, the current champion of the Kalos league and lastly Sebastian, the manager of the building complex." Sir Michael introduces the people up on stage.

"There are 64 of you in total who were victorious in beating all 8 gyms in the Kalos region. And for that, congratulations. How the league will work is 3 on 3 battles for rounds 1-3. Then, when we have our 4th round onwards, it will be full 6 on 6 battles until we have crowned a winner of this year's league. That person then must beat the Kalos Elite Four, and then they will have a chance to beat Diantha and be crowned Kalos Champion." Sir Michael then gestures towards a screen that has just turned on. It displays cards with trainer's faces on them. They are then shuffled together, to reveal the matchups for tomorrow.

"The matches for tomorrow are now showing on the board. "Have a wonderful League everyone, and I wish you all the best of luck." He finishes.

Applause fills the silence before everyone tries to find their face on the T.V. "I'm the second battle." Ash declares. "Damnit, the 17th battle?!" Tierno begins to complain, only to be shut down by Trevor, "At least you're not 1st!" Trevor then begins to freak out, "Who is the girl you're facing, Trevor?"

All heads turn to the screen, where a picture of the girl is there. Her blue eyes and brown hair, and a stern look on her face. This makes Ash's heart beat a little faster.

"Hey? Isn't that the girl I was going to ask to marry my brother?" Bonnie recalls and slides her blue orbs onto her brothers, a smug look on her face starts to appear. "Bonnie, don't you dare try," Clemont warns her, but Bonnie then looks at Ash for help. He sighs, and grabs Bonnie by the torso and lifts her up onto his shoulder. Bonnie then tries to find the girl, but to no avail, is unsuccessful in doing so.

"She's not here." Bonnie declares. Clemont sighs in relief, thankful she won't be embarrassed by her sister right now. "Where could she be? If she's a participating trainer, it's only nice to meet who you'll be up against." Says Tierno.

"It's obvious she has a reason for not being here, though. So, let's drop the subject." Serena is quick to respond and moves on to talk more about her journey in Pokémon Showcase. No one cared; they were just nice enough to let her ramble on. But when Ash felt the time was right, he left.
