Adi

Two things occurred more often after the trip to Hampi, one Chandni's mood swings and other is her unanticipated passionate love towards me.

She made every little attempt to hide her emotions, knowing her from childhood had its benefit. She was lost in her thoughts and gloomy most of the time. Knowing her, I was aware she would not speak until she was ready. With less than two weeks left for Rishi's wedding, we wanted to meet the deadline without causing inconvenience to our clients.

'Adi, you have a minute?' Rishi asks walking into my cabin. His flustered eyes told me, something was bothering him.

'Sure' I say keeping the files I have been studying aside.

'Adi, Talk to Chandni, She is brooding. When I try talking to her, she shuts me off. I'm worried about her. Do you think I rushed into getting married? Should I cancel the wedding?' he wonders aloud.

'Stop agonizing yourself, if you remember she insisted on you getting married. I think she is just worried about her future. But I'm going to talk to her, okay?' I assure him. I don't tell him, I have known her mood swings since the trip to Hampi.

As clock work, Chandni comes to office at 6 P.M.

'Hey' I regret taking my eyes off the project I have been working the entire day.

'Hi' she murmurs locking the door to my cabin. Her impish eyes, once filled with ardour is now broody with worry. Dark circles covering those beautiful eyes. Her face pale with no zeal in it. I have known something was eating her up but I failed to notice the physical changes.

I got to make her talk.

Walking towards my desk, she sat on my lap, my hands circling her waists, she slowly leaned on my chest. Inhaling her intoxicating scent, my lips on her long dark hair.

'I missed you' I whisper relishing her presence on my chest.

'I missed you more' she says emphasizing on the more. She has been doing that more often these day. Emphasizing the words, physically wanting me often, telling she loves me more.

So unlike her!

Like she is trying to remind me time and again. What are you not telling me Chandni?

'Lets go shopping' I suggest because she loves shopping, that certainly will make her feel better.

'And you got to stop wearing these shorts in here. It is too short and I don't want our employees here staring at your ass' I say teasing her.

'You think, people in here are going to stare, when they are very much aware that my brother and boyfriend are paying them salary' she winks placing her lips on mine. Her cocoa lip gloss, so heady. 'Besides, I took the exit door' she adds. Exit door leads to the stair case, and my cabin is the first from back side.

'Avoiding your brother, is it?' she stills, the same way she stiffened when Gautam told me about picking up pieces of my heart.

God forbids, If she does, you wouldn't have anything to pick up.

'Shopping or dinner?' I ask her hoping she picks dinner but shopping is her first choice.

'Dinner' she says surprising me.

After devouring her mouth for an hour, I take her to dinner. Any question regarding her mood swings are dodged with a change of subject or distracting me with her physical charm. This has nothing to do with her future plans. Something more is hurting her, something she is not ready to speak to anyone.
