They have Echo

ALEX'S POV

I watch Jackson work on that bomb. It scares me how she knows all this stuff. And having it.

I find it still hot.

I realize that we aren't those same kids two years ago. We're something else. We're a group of kids who help the world. Even save it.

If this plan works.

I wrap my arms around Jack and she just pushes me off. I look at her and she doesn't look at me.

"What's wrong?" I ask her.

She puts ashes into the ball and plugs it. She walks away from me and grabs new clothes.

"What up with her?" Munch asks.

"I don't know." I reply.

Emma groans and shows us.

Unknown:

You're just going to fail. Give up and prepare for war.

"Gary and Gigi know what we're doing. Jack is pissed off," Emma replies.

I see Jack walk out and sit a distance from me. She wears a jersey and gym shorts. Her hair out of her face and only her bangs in the way.

Tuck passes me her phone and I see a photo.

Shit.

I see the photo of me kissing a girl and the date on the photo.

I see a text after the photo.

Unknown:

Guess he never liked you. Doesn't matter. You two never worked out.

"Jack, that's like one month ago so what?" I ask her.

She continues to ignore me. She stands up and walks back to her dusk.

"It's done, we should get to the cliffs and blow that place up," Jack speaks up.

We all nod and started gathering our stuff.

I watch Jack carefully place the basketball in a box and a laser gun in there also. I walk over to her.

"It doesn't matter anymore. The text is true. We never work out together. Always argue. We are two different people, Alex. We should just not date at all," Jack explains fast.

I look at her and she grabs a marker and marks a giant X on the ball.

"Jack, I really like you though," I explain to her.

"Whatever, this is war. It will always be. Love is weakness and we lose everything in the end," she tells me and looks at me.

"What bout our fears?" I ask her.

"Mine isn't about you. It's bout my mother," she replies.

I would speak up, but I ignore it. I walk back over and waited for everyone to finish getting ready.

JACK'S POV

I take out the laser and grab the container of left over ashes. I pour the whole thing into the box and duct taped the whole box. I mark it with an X and grab my shoes. I put on the boots and knowing it's Summer, I'm not caring.

"Okay, here's how it goes. We all aim at the box. One hits the X. The thing explodes and you better run fast. Stand five hundred feet away. Got it?" I ask them.

They all nod and we grab our keys. I put the box in Munch's car and put my helmet on.

I get on my bike and start it. I hear the roar and followed everyone else.

NO ONE'S POV

The cliffs were quiet. The aliens were motionless. Probably asleep.

The four kids stand at the cliffs. All of them staring down at the giant ship.

"What are we taking out?" Emma asks fixing her blonde hair.

"The center," Jackson points to the giant ship.

"Won't that just blow up only that?" Munch asks.

"It will, but that's why I have the basketball," Jackson says and takes it out of the box.

The Burnette girl tosses the ball into the cliff and it hits the ship and lands near the center. She grabs the box and hands it to Alex.

Alex throws the box and it lands on the top if the ship.

The four kids start running five hundred feet away from the cliff and aim their weapons.

They all release and the whole cliffs blow up, destroying the metal ships and capsules.

The four kids cheer in excitement and hug each other.

Three people in the distance comes out of their hiding spots. Their mouths drop to desert floor.

"What do we do?" One figure whispers to the other.

"They're all gone. I don't know," the other replies.

"We move to plan B. Let's head back to headquarters. They'll notice when their little alien friend, Echo, is missing," the last figure smirks and walks away swiftly.

"Let them celebrate. Soon we'll destroy them and get revenge," the figure says.

The three walk back to there van and drive away.

Jackson hears wheels and sees the van. She stops and everyone looks at her.

"This isn't over," Jack speaks up.

"Where's Echo? He came with us. He's not here," Emma worries.

All their eyes widen and look at each other.

"They took Echo," They all say in an union.
