As the dagger ascended to his heart mine stopped beating too. To take anothers life was the last thing I wanted. But to see what could be my Jayden die...at my hand, was the worst pain imaginable. Of course, a delight to Lucy. His body fell limp and flopped to the floor. The dirt separated as he crashed onto it. The fire raged as his agony became clear. Jayden rolled around on his stomach, begging for it to stop. Suddenly, I thought of what Lucy had said. If I chose right, the body should turn to dust. But there was no dust, only the dust which had gathered from the island floor. I stopped breathing and tumbled to the ground. Max chased after me, but everything seemed to be moving in slow motion. It felt like hours before he met me on the floor. My hand slumped into a wet patch in the mud. It was Jayden's blood mixed in with rocks and dirt, into a mucky liquid. I picked my hand up to my face and cradled it near, staring at the blood and screaming. I must have yelled non stop for minutes. My hands were cold but the blood was warm, only driving my attention to it more. "I'm sorry!" I yelled hysterically, rolling across the ground with my knees tucked close to my chest. I began crashing my hands on the ground, clenched in tiny fists.
Elliana stood in horror, I was acting deranged. Her fear got me to stop and realize what I was doing. When I had stopped kicking around Hope knelt by my side. "This isn't your fault, Lucy wants to hurt you. Nobody can bring back the dead forever." She spoke softly. Although it calmed me, her words were hypocritical. "But I died! I'm supposed to be dead!" I screamed, crawling off the ground. I held my hands ahead of me, letting the blood drip down to my fingertips and splash onto the ground. Jayden's squirming had stopped and he lay quite lifeless. I placed my bloody hand on my mouth when I realized that he was finally gone for good. My hand left a bloody mark around my mouth that burnt as it sank into my skin. The other Jayden had stopped moving too, and then his body gradually turned to ash. The wind carried his ashes across my body, coating me in grey. I was reminded of one of the visions I had, and it froze me in a state of paralysis.
The wind settled and there was no more screaming. I held my arms up, and froze them there. "Robyn..." Hope whispered. The sound of my blood pumping through my head seemed to drown out any other noise. I felt a hand grab my wrist but I flicked it away. "Robyn you need help," Max said. I could not answer, my mouth was sealed shut. I lowered my arms slowly to my sides but then once more I stayed still. A gust of wind erupted in front of me, blowing away the ash that did not stick onto the blood. Ahead of us Lucy stood perched with her foot on Jayden's back. Her skinny leg pushed his head further into the ground until his neck seemed to twist under the pressure. In my pocket I pulled out the dagger and flipped it over so it faced the ground. I struck my arm out and sent the dagger hurdling through the air and past Lucy's head. And then suddenly something snapped I ran forward with my hands in the air, intent on hurting Lucy. I slammed her scrawny body against the tree and gripped her neck till I could feel the veins throbbing in my palm. I pulled her head towards me and then I thrust it back against the tree till the force was so hard her nose poured with blood. "No!" Hope yelled, still protective of her. Max did not stop me, he reveled in the sight.
"You are a fool to love," Lucy squeezed out. Her body wriggled and twisted beneath my grip. Her small feet scrambled against the ground and her hands smacked the floor limply as she struggled for air. I pulled back and then used my powers to pin her against the tree. I watched as her head whipped behind her and less than a moment later smacked against the bark of the tree.
Reluctantly, I let her breathe. "Jayden was never really here." She laughed, licking the blood as it poured down from her nose and into the creases of her lips. I stared at her disgusted, using my powers to push her harder into the tree. "Speak." I said. Lucy grimaced and the corners of her mouth twitched. After a long pause she finally said, "Both of them were fake. I just wanted to see you kill."
Hope sensed my anger growing deeper and as I tightened my fist she jumped in front of my view. "Think about this Robyn, you are giving her what she wants." Hope said. I looked past her shoulder and eyed Lucy, still reluctant to let go of the grasp I had over her. "Maybe me and you aren't so different?" Lucy said. I threw my hand behind my back, letting Lucy drop to the ground. "Why do you hate me so much?" I asked. Lucy wheezed and then broke out into laughter once more. Her cackling angered me and I used my powers to slice a cut neatly down her forearm. "I don't hate you, I hate your parents!" She giggled. I looked at Max to see if he understood, but he shook his head.
She sighed, realizing that she would not get away without an answer. "They used my mother as bait in the war. They led over a dozen of Abraxas's troops towards her to see what new weaponry Abraxas had in stock. She was killed on spot." Lucy explained. "You don't see it do you Robyn? There is no good. Everyone has done evil things just some won't admit it. Your Parents were murderers." She croaked. I slammed her body down onto the ground and was prepared to kill her there and then before Hope stopped me.
