A loud bang went off in the corridor outside. I peeked out the blinds from the room and saw a large sturdy man was scraping his way through the crowds. "How could she do this?!" The man yelled. His voice blundered down the corridor, vibrating the walls. When he grew closer I was able to make out his face. It was Hope's father. He pounded down the hall, his face stricken with rage. His fists were held tightly together with something lodged down his trousers. I cowered in the corner of the room too afraid to speak. When all had gone silent I stepped back. My head hit the lamp that shone over Hope's bed, letting out a loud ringing noise. The metal door burst open and a tall broad shouldered man stamped towards me. With his hands outstretched her pinned me to the wall and grasped around my throat. His huge arms chucked me on the floor and rolled towards a chair. His face glowed in enjoyment, to watch me gasping for air. I used my powers and threw him against the wall. He got up briskly and pulled a gun to my head. The gun hovered so close that the tip scraped my forehead. I backed down, with my hands in the air I curled into a ball. "You killed her," He growled. "I didn't kill her!" I shouted. As my voice raised her thrust the gun at me again, so I silenced. "I know who you are," He mocked. His finger was trembling on the trigger, like he was too afraid to shoot me. "Hope was fine before you turned her into what she is!" He yelled. "Did Lucy tell you this?" I asked softly. "So what if she did?!" He boomed.
The door burst through and Max ran in with a glass bottle. He smashed it on the corner table and then swung it at the mans head. Max then quickly grabbed me and rushed me out of the hospital. "What about Jayden!" I said. Max looked around for him, "Jayden is powerful he can handle himself, but for now we have to leave, it isn't safe here anymore." He explained. The man had recovered from the blow he took and began to chase us down the corridor, and into the waiting room. We had reached the entrance when he started firing at us. We dodged and ducked, hiding away from his gun. "Face me!" He screamed. "We need a car," Max said. The man had left his van in the car park, I recognized it from seeing Hope climb out of it at school. "Here!" I shouted. Max smashed the glass window and opened the door from the inside. Jayden had been following us discreetly and jumped into the drivers seat. Before I could climb in a bullet flew through the air and embedded itself in my arm. I shrieked loudly and dropped onto the floor. Max picked me up and dropped me into the back of the van where I squeezed the wound to stop the blood. The engine started and the van was sent speeding down the cobble road, bouncing and skidding, but then we slowed down. A black sheet covered my eyes and my body slumped limply to the side.
