The next day, the goths go out into the woods to search for answers on how Tyler was almost killed. Josh was gonna leave Tyler at the brick wall, but he decided to bring him along to protect him for danger.
While in the woods, Tyler kept his knife as close to him as possible. He had somehow learned how to use it quicker than any person should. Josh thought it was quite impressive.
"You've gotten braver than I thought." Josh said.
"Not really." Tyler replied. "I'm still scared."
"Don't worry, I'm gonna be right here."
"All of us will." One of the goths added. "We won't leave you at all."
Tyler smiled at them.
"Why don't you go gather us some wood for tonight?"
"Ok Josh."
Tyler walked off into the farther side of the woods to gather some wood for the fire, while Josh and the goths looked on.
Gerard came to Josh's side. He seemed very suspicious about him.
"Are you sure you want to let him go all alone?"
"It's not far from here."
"Still, he's too young to be trusted."
"He's been with us long enough. I can trust him."
Gerard scoffed.
"We shall see."
As Tyler picked up some wood from the pile, wind howled through him. He stood up to inspect it, and it wasn't good.
Suddenly, trees started falling down rapidly. Tyler screamed, which caused the goths to come to his aid.
"Tyler, what's wrong?" Josh cried.
"The forest is collapsing! We got to get out of here!"
"He's right!" Gerard added. "Let's go!"
Josh helped Tyler to his feet and the goths ran as quickly as they could to escape the forest.
Trees kept falling on each other, which caused the goths to run faster than before.
As Gerard is trying to escape, he is caught underneath a few trees. Tyler turns to see him.
"Josh! Gerard is stuck! We have to help him!"
"No!" Gerard yelled. "Leave me!"
Tyler, refusing to let him die, runs back to the forest to help him.
"Tyler no!" Josh cried, chasing after him.
Tyler went through the collapsed trees to find Gerard struggling to get out.
"Little child! You shouldn't do this! It will kill both of us!"
"Not if I save you!"
He held out his hand.
"Take my hand!"
Suddenly, a huge tree started falling.
"Tyler look out!" Josh cried; pulling the child away.
"Gerard!"
The tree fell upon him and killed him instantly.
"No!" Tyler cried.
He sobbed into Josh's arms.
"Why did you let him die?!"
"There was no hope for him anyway, but I'm glad you wanted to save him. Now come on, we have to get out of here before we die ourselves."
Without any choice, Tyler flees with Josh, and they meet up with the goths to make their escape back to the brick wall.
