Day in the City

New chapter of 'Little Ninja'. Hope you guys like it. I'm going to try and get one or two more updates this weekend on this story and my other one. So enjoy this new chapter and comment. 😉

Cole was sleeping peaceful in bed when he felt something jumping up and down. He quickly opened his eyes to see Jay jumping up and down in his bed.

"Good. Morning. Cole." Jay said in between bounces. "It's time. To get. Up."

Cole smiled and picked up Jay after he was done bouncing. He said, "Good morning to you too, Jay."

He sat Jay on his shoulders and carried him downstairs while tickling his toes and listening to his laughter. When they arrived, they saw the others already eating breakfast. It looked like they were waiting for them for a while.

"Hey guys," Cole said as he sat Jay down, then sat right next to him.

"Hey Cole." Kai said, taking a bit of his cereal.

"Good morning, Jay." Nya said as she put a bowl of cereal in front of him.

"Good morning, Nya." Jay said as he grabbed the spoon in front of him and started to gobble down the cereal.

"So, who's going to watch Jay today?" Nya asked, looking around the table for a volunteer.

No one answered, so Cole turned to Jay and asked, "Jay, who do you want to watch you today, Kai, Lloyd, or Zane?"

Jay looked at all three of them, then yelled, "Lloyd!"

Nya looked over at Lloyd and said, "It looks like you get the day off."

But before they others could leave, Lloyd pulled them aside and said, "Maybe I should take Jay in the city today?"

Nya got a horrified look on her face and yelled, "No Lloyd! That's a bad idea!"

Lloyd took a step back at Nya's outburst and said, "Come on Nya, I'll keep a close eye on him and I will make sure nothing goes wrong."

Nya took a deep breath and said, "Maybe you're right, but what if something goes wrong?"

"It won't, I promise. I'll just take him to see a movie, then to the playground at the park, then we can all met up at Chen's Noodle House." He suggested.

"That does sound like a good plan." Kai said to his sister. Just excited by the thought of see Skylor in person again.

Nya thought it over for a minute, then said, "Okay, you can take him to the city. But you have to text me whenever you're leaving the playground or movies and tell me if the plan changes before you do anything."

Lloyd nodded and went to tell Jay the good news. A little while after the others had left, Lloyd took Jay outside the temple to take him to the city.

"How are we going to get to the city, Lloyd?" Jay asked him.

Lloyd smiled at Jay and said, "Stand back and watch this."

Jay watched in amazement as a bright green dragon appeared out of thin air and land in front of the temple.

"Wow!" Was all he could say.

"Hop on." Lloyd said to him as he climbed on the dragons back. Jay quickly got on, with the help of Lloyd, and sat in front of him so Lloyd could hold onto him while they were flying in the air.

"You ready?" Lloyd asked before they took off. Jay nodded eagerly and they set off in the air.

Jay loved every minute of flying around on a dragon. He especially loved it when Lloyd did a trick, like flying upside down.

Lloyd was having a lot of fun too. He loved seeing Jay so happy and enjoyed a good dragon ride as much as the next ninja.

Soon, they arrived at their destination, a Fritz Donegan movie. Lloyd took Jay by the hand and lead him into the theater. He brought their tickets, popcorn, and sodas and they took their seats as the movie started to play.

Everything went smoothly, until Jay got scared near the end of the movie and used his elemental powers to mess with the projector.

"Uh oh," Lloyd said, and quickly calmed him down and the two left the theater.

Lloyd called Nya and told her everything was going smoothly, not telling her about Jay's little power problem, and said they were on their way to the park.

For a few hours, Lloyd played with Jay on the playground. They played tag, hide and go seek, and hide and go seek tag. It was so much fun for the both of them.

Soon, Lloyd got a text from Nya saying that they were headed over to Chen's Noodle House already and that he and Jay should probably head over their too.

"Okay Jay, it's time to go." Lloyd said to the younger ninja.

"Please, Lloyd, two more minutes." Jay begged, hoping the fun wasn't over already.

"Sorry Jay, but it's dinner time." Lloyd said and picked him up. "And besides, Nya is really excited to see you."

"Really?" Jay asked, excited that Nya was really missing him. "She misses me?"

"Of course she does, Jay." Lloyd answered as he carried Jay to Chen's Noodle House. "You mean a lot to her. To all of us."

Just hearing that made Jay feel like the most special person in the world. He and Lloyd entered the Noddle House and saw the other ninja and Skylor, who was already informed Jay was a kid, already waiting at a tablet for them.

Jay sat in between Cole and Nya, whole Lloyd sat on the edge next to Kai, who was focused on the beautiful redhead sitting next to him.

Jay told them all about his and Lloyd's day and how much fun they had. Although, he accidentally reveled his little electrical accident at the theater and got Lloyd in trouble with Nya.

"So any luck today, guys?" Lloyd asked, ignoring the angry glares he got from Nya as he ate his noddles.

"No, but I think we are getting closer to finding the spell." Zane reported.

They talk for awhile longer before paying for their meal and left, with Jay fast asleep in Cole's arms.

They all sparked up their dragons and flew away, unaware that a ghostly presence was watching them from the moment they stepped in the restaurant.

"See you later, ninja." Close said as he watched their dragon fly back to their home.
