Joshs POV

I walked up to the tatty apartment, unlocking it and walking inside. The others must all be at work. All of us lived in one apartment, using the little money we earned to pay the rent and bills. We didnt have much food in the house, however we didnt mind. Each of us enjoyed life, never having one dull moment. We had each other. Thats what we needed. None of us had ever felt love from someone other than our familes and each other. No wonder why. We all looked scruffy and thin. We didnt smell great either since showers we limited and so was toiletries.

I sat down on the sofa, staring at a blank wall. We didnt have money for a TV, however we were saving up for one. We only had one phone which was on the wall, only used for emergancies. The door soon opened, Caspar and Joe walking in.
"Hey." Caspar said, sitting next to me on the sofa, leaving Joe to sit on the floor.
"Hi." I smiled. "How was work?"
"Good." He said. "My boss gave me these." He took out some pastries from his pocket which we would all be able to share.
"Nice Casp." Joe smiled. We waited until everyone got home before cutting the parties up into ways we could share. I smiled, finishing my piece.
"So who has the shower tonight?" I asked.
"Well Jack, Conor and Mikey had is yesterday. You, me and Oli." Caspar said. I nodded.
"Ill go first." I sighed. "Also we have a little money so Ill go shopping later too for some food."
"Remember only the essentials."
"Yes." I laughed a little, walking into the bathroom. I was sent shopping since the others knew I wouldn't spend the little money we had on things we didnt need. I took a quick shower, not wasting any of the water we had, getting out and drying myself off. I got dressed, walking into the kitchen and taking the money out the food jar we had. I put it in my pocket, walking to the front door.
"Ill be back soon." I said before leaving, walking towards the supermarket.

When I got there I grabbed a basket, knowing I didnt have enough money to fill up a trolley. I walked down isles, looking for small and cheap things, mainly things you didnt need to heat up so we didnt waste any electricity. We had to think carefully about what we did and how we saved some money. While I was walking I crashed into a girl, catching her before she fell.
"Sorry, I wasnt paying attention." I smiled, helping her steady herself.
"No no its completely my fault." She said, holding onto the trolley I had knocked her away from.
"No its mine." I said, making us both laugh however a frown soon showed up on her face. "What's wrong?"
"Oh nothing." She sighed.
"You sure?" I asked, looking down at her almost full trolley. Where did she work to afford all that. "Quick question, where do you work?" I asked.
"Im a personal trainer and an aspiring paralympian."
"Paralymp-" I cut myself off when I noticed her arm. "Well I hope you get there one day." I smiled.
"Youre the first thats ever had hope in me." She said sadly.
"No one else has?" I asked. I always reached for my dreams, never gave up on them. Getting the apartment was one of them and we all got it together.
"No." She sighed. "Id love more of your support."
"Sure, meet me here tomorrow at 9." I said before walking to the check out.

When I got home I had the brightest smile on my face, and it didnt take long for the boys to ask why.
"Josh whats got you all happy?" Caspar asked when I sat down after unpacking the shopping.
"I met a girl."
"Oooooo is she nice?" Conor asked. I nodded.
"Nice, sweet, down to earth and gorgeous too." I sighed happily. "But I dont think shed like me knowing the situation we are in."
"If you get to know her and shes the one, then shell accept it." Joe said before getting up. "Im going to bed."
"Go on you old man." Caspar joked. Joe laughed sarcastically before walking off. We all went to bed not long after, and I fell asleep thinking of a certain someone.

*The Next Morning*

Laurens POV

I was stood outside the supermarket, hugging myself gently. I never caught that guys name so Id have to ask when he got here. Im surprised a stranger believed in me. My mother told me to try but told me there was a slim chance that Id make it. However he thought I could. I smiled a little, seeing him walk over.
"Hey." I said, looking up at him.
"Hi......."
"Lauren, Im Lauren."
"Hi Lauren." He smiled. "Im Josh." He told me.
"Easy to remember." I smiled as we began to walk. I told him all about my sporting experience, how I always had a passion for it. He listened. Never cut me off to talk about himself. He always listened to me, let me explain. I liked that.
"So, whats your job?" I asked him.
"I work in sports direct." He shrugged. "No where near as cool as you."
"Youll get there someday." I smiled. "Whats it like at home?"
"Crowded." He sighed. "My friends and I all live in one small apartment. We dont earn enough to live on our own."
"Oh." I looked down before smiling up at him. "I wanna see." For some reason I wanted to see how someone not living in the best house could be so positive. I wanted to stay round someone that positive.

Joshs POV

Just like Joe said, she'll accept it if shes the one.

She accepted it.
