Warning: Mentions of homelessness

Joes POV

I was sat under a shop in the cold streets, people walking past, a few pulling out some loose change that they could spare, dropping it in the cup I had placed in front if me. The only thing keeping me a little warm in this harsh winter was a blanket I had found at night that had been left in a park. The streets started to clear, only a few people walking past, a group of drunk adults looking at me in disgust. I didnt choose to be here, my parents had thrown me out when I was 16 and I couldnt go stay with any other family. I was now 25 and still on the streets. I sighed, laying done, closing my eyes in hopes to fall asleep.

I woke up feeling someone shaking me. My eyes opened, blinking at a red headed girl.
"You must be cold." She said, having a few flakes of snow in her hair. I hadnt even realised it was snowing. "Come with me, you can come stay at mine tonight." She said, holding a hand out for me. I smiled, collecting my stuff and she helped.
"Why are you helping me?"
"My brother used to be on the streets." She said. "I brought him in once I moved out. Now he has my house in Australia and has a stable job to keep him there." She added, smiling a little up at me. "I dont want you left out here in winter."
"Thank you." I said, shivering a little, snow falling around us. "Your kindness is highly appricited."
"Dont worry about it. We can get you some food and a shower. A bed to sleep in for the night." She said, walking up to her house, unlocking the door. I smiled, following her inside. It was quite a big house, she mustve had a lot of money to affort a place like this. I looked around, following her up the stairs into what looked like a guest bedroom.
"You can stay in here." She smiled.
"Thank you.....I never caught your name."
"Dianne." She smiled.
"Joe." I said, putting my blanket and cup on the floor.
"Here, let me wash it for you." She said softly. I handed her the blanket and she walked downstairs, returning a few moments later with some clean clothes.
"Theyre my friends that he left here. They may be a little big but you can wear them. He wouldnt mind." Dianne smiled. I took them from her, thanking her. "Come with me." She smiled, walking me to the bathroom. Dianne turned on the shower, grabbing some clean towels and leaving them on the side before letting me shower.

Diannes POV

I walked into the kitchen, getting some soup out the cupboard and heating it through, putting it into a bowl. Hopefully it would help heat Joe up. I smiled and made him a hot chocolate, carrying it to the table and putting it down. He soon walked in, wearing Byrons clothes that were left here. He looked cute almost? He looked at the food and smiled, sitting down at slowly going through the food and drink. I sat letting him eat as much as he needed, washing up the bowl and mug afterwards.
"Thank you, for all of this." He said quietly.
"Youve said that a lot. Dont worry about it." I smiled, walking back to the guest room with him, letting him get into bed.
"Goodnight." He said quietly.
"Goodnight Joe." I smiled.
He soon fell asleep and when he did I got up and walked to my room.

I promise you Joe, Ill keep you safe. I wont let you back onto the streets again.
