With full stomachs and rested feet we all felt better and continued to the next room. There was two platforms on fire in this room, and just like the last one Link shot the eyes and we crossed safely. We were back in the room with the spike trap in it, but on the north side. We jumped over to a platform and climbed up another to a large chest. Link opened it, since he was the one doing all of the fighting, and pulled out the bomb bag, full of bombs. Navi explained the item to him while Aiko and I took a chance to talk.

“Jeanette, this is taking a lot longer than I thought it would. Do you think we’ll make it through the next one okay? I mean, we never, EVER, got hit when we played this at home. Ever. And we’ve already had to use a fairy here.”

“I don’t know Aiko,” I said truthfully, “I’m hoping Lord Jabu-Jabu will be easier, but there’s the electric jellyfish, and all of the different parasite type things..”

“What about the boss fight here? King Dodongo? Should we go with him? I mean, we always used the corner to hide in when we played, but what if some of our tricks from there don’t work here?” Aiko said, a concerned look on her face.

“I’m sure we’ll be fine. We sorta have to go with him anyway, we’re supposed to be helping him. Can you imagine how long this would have taken without us?”

Link looked over at the two girls who were in deep conversation. Aiko was obviously stressed, and Jeanette seemed to be trying to calm her.

“Move it or lose it!” Navi yelled from over his shoulder.

“We’re coming.” Both girls said at the same time.

“Shut up, Navi.” He said glaring at her from over his shoulder.

The little fairy huffed, crossed her arms and hid in his hat.

Aiko and I walked back over to Link, content to carry on. Link nodded at us, and led the way out of the room. We were in the main room again, but now by the Dodongo skull. Link stepped on a switch that made one of the small rising and falling platforms rise really far up. I then instructed him to throw bombs into the eyes of the Dodongo skull, which he did with no trouble. The mouth of the Dodongo skull lowered, it’s eye’s glowing red. After he came back we all rode the platform down to the main floor and entered the mouth of the skull.

The first room was one I hated, because it simply took too long. There were two fire Keese, which Link killed without a second thought. From there, we went to the right, and climbed up into a corridor. After emerging from that we were in a room with more fire Keese, which were killed quickly. There were talls walls in there, which required us to use blocks to get across. Instead of pushing and pulling multiple blocks, we simply climbed one, turned and climbed another, then walked along the wall until we reached the end of the room.

Aiko had Link break the pots as I stood ready with a bottle, there was another fairy to be caught. Link smashed the pot with his sword, and I leapt forward with the bottle, enclosing the tiny pink humanoid inside. After securely corking it, I handed the bottle back to Link.

We left that room, through another corridor, with a block at the end. Though Link could have done it alone, Aiko and I helped him push it off the ledge, back into the room where we started. He pulled while we pushed, moving it to the center of the room, where there was a large hole with a switch in it. Once the block was in, the bars on the door to the boss room lifted. Link placed a bomb in the middle of the floor, courtesy of Aiko’s instructions, and then opened the chest, which contained more bombs.

“Link, down there,” I said pointing to the gaping hole in the floor that led to the lower part of the dungeon, “we may not be of much help, and may be more in the way than anything.”
