Rebecca.

I dropped my book bag and took my shoes off. I smiled seeing the luggage by the door.

"Mom!" I yelled making my way to the kitchen.

"Hey sweetie, how was school." She smiled taking her glasses off.

I kissed her cheek. "It was cool, I learned a lot."

"That's always good hun." She stood up and went to the cabinets. "You know the drill, spread them."

I rolled my eyes and groaned. "Mom germs are everywhere, i don't understand the point of doing this everyday."

I spread my arms out in a T shape and spread my legs as well. She threw holy water on me and started speaking in tongue. All I could think about was getting this over with.

"Honey, sinners are out there and I don't want you to become one. Why aren't you going on this retreat with us again?" She asked.

"Well for one, I have school and two, I want to stay here and prove to you guys that I am responsible enough to maintain a house by myself for a whole week." I smiled.

She put the holy water away and smiled. "I trust you but I don't trust your friends. Don't think we don't know."

My smile slowly turned into a frown. "What do you mean?"

"We have kept in contact with Tyler's parents and they said she lives with some man now. Honey, Tyler has lost sight of god and I don't want you around that type of negative energy." She said putting her hand on my shoulder.

"There's no man, his name is Chris and he's 19." I said. "He's really nice mom."

She frowned. "You've been around boys?"

"N-no I-"

She snatched my arm and dragged me upstairs before I could finish my sentence. She pushed me into my parents room and threw me on the floor.

"She's been around men!" She yelled alerting my father who was in the closet.

He walked out with a confused expression. "Men?"

"Yes! This is Tyler's fault." My mom yelled. Her face was so red, i never seen her this mad.

"Not true." I mumbled standing up. "Tyler did nothing wrong."

"So who did? Who are the men?" My dad asked in a calm tone.

"There's no men around dad, mom just overreacted." I said avoiding the stern glare my father was giving me.

He grabbed my arm and squeezed it causing me to scream. The deeper his nails dug into my skin the more I couldn't feel my arm. Tears fell from my eyes as I stared at my father. This wasn't many father at all, this was the devil himself.

"You are to not hang out with that girl ever again, do you hear me?" He spat.

I quickly nodded and sniffed. He pushed me on the floor and stood over me.

"Just so you remember what I said."

He took his belt off and held the end leaving the metal piece hanging in front of me. I looked up at him in complete fear. I looked over at my mom and she had nothing but hatred in her eyes.

"I'm doing this because I love you." My dad smiled before doing the unspeakable.

-a week later-

Rebecca.

I limped into school and leaned against my locker to catch my breath. My parents made me go on that retreat with them a week ago and they broke my phone so I had no way of communicating with my friends. Throwing the holy water has stopped but the beatings has begun. If I show signs of "sinning" then I get beat. Maybe this is god punishing me for actually sinning.
