It was the next day and I stood at my car waiting for Jace to pull up with his car, so he could follow behind me. We decided last period that he'd just follow me instead of leaving his car here. Plus, I did not want to spend any time locked in a car with him. Absolutely not.
"Ready to go," he smiled while pulling up towards me. I saw certain students glancing over at us but I shrugged it off. Imagine how many looks we'd get if he actually did ride with me. Oh, brother.
I got in my car and then was on my way. I hoped he was following because I surely didn't check if he was. As I pulled into my driveway, I saw his car pull in after mine. I got out and waited for him to do the same.
"Nice house," he said while walking up to me. I guess it was a nice house. That's all it really was. It was certainly not a home. Just another stop on my never ending voyage. Like everything else, it was temporary.
"Thanks," I said glancing at him. He honestly, somehow got more attractive in the light. How is that even possible?
I looked away before he could see me looking at him. "Come on," I led him to front door and opened it with my key. I walked in and gave him way to so I could close the door.
I walked to the kitchen with him following close behind, still looking around at his surroundings. He looks like such a lost dog. It's actually quite hilarious.
"Do you want anything, like a snack or drink, before we start this bullshit," I asked while I opened the fridge. I heard a gasp and I looked back to see Jace with a surprised look on his face and his hand over his heart. "What?" I asked.
"You," he paused, "Sariah Queens, is actually being nice." He smirked at me.
I narrowed my eyes. "What can I say, I'm a good host."
He looked at me once again with surprise, "Was that a joke I detected just now?" He smiled as if he'd just won a million bucks.
"Have anybody ever told you you talk too much?" I asked rolling my eyes.
"Have anybody ever told you you talk too little?" He countered.
I paused for a second and acted as though I was actually thinking about it, "Yes, all the time," He chuckled at that. What I said wasn't even funny, "since you obviously don't want anything, let's get started. Follow me."
As I led him to the stairs to go to my room, the front doors open revealing the devil, I mean Sade. Dammit. I thought she would come home late tonight.
I tried to hurry up the stairs before she could see us, but I obviously didn't have much luck. "Well, well, Well. What do we have here," Sade said in a condescending tone. I looked back and glanced at Jace, who looked a little less calm and collected than he normal does. "Never expected to see this."
"Never expected to see you," I said annoyed, "Come on Jace let's go."
"So you're not going to introduce me to your friend," she said placing a lot of emphasis on the word 'friend.' I noticed that she was slightly checking him out which was honestly gross. 'Stick to people your own age!' I thought.
"He's not my friend," I said and I saw an expression pass over Jace's face but it was gone in a second.
"I'm Jace Jones," Jace said with a smile and extended hand, "I'm workin on a project with Sariah."
"You don't have to explai..." I was cut off by Sade.
"I'm Sade Queens," she responded with a seductive smile and shook his hand. Ew. Can somebody save me? "I can see my sister wants me to go," She never said truer words, "But if there's anything you need, anything at all, just let me know." Wtf, where did this nice act come from? Maybe I need to bring more company over, so she can stop being a bitch. But I hate everyone, so that's unlikely.
