It was only the early hours of the war, a full day hadn't gone by yet, and Themis' medical tent was already filled with injured Spartans. They knew some would die as Themis could do nothing to help them. Regardless, they still told the injured that the gods would help restore them. As they looked around inside the tent, some bleeding, some yelling in agonizing pain, others having a spear or arrow impaled into their bodies that didn't kill them fast enough, Themis cursed the gods for bestowing this war upon them as they thought their people deserved a great doctor. Themis wondered if the Athenian doctors were capable enough to help these fallen soldiers.
They did manage to help the Spartans who weren't severely injured. Themis helped some from bleeding out profusely. They also cracked a bone back into place and even helped the impaled from any life-threatening infections.
Although they healed those that they could, it was not equivalent to those who were dying. Themis understands the many reasons as to why Athens needs to win this war but all these men didn't deserve to die only because Themis didn't know how to help them.
Frustrated, Themis decides to take a break to wash their dark brown toga as it got sprayed with blood from an injured hoplite. They collected a bucket of water that was sitting outside one of the other tents and took it into the tent that they would be sleeping in. Themis places it on the ground and stands in front of it. They lift the soaked toga over their head to drop it in the bucket of water. Some of the blood that was on their toga transferred to their pure white hair, staining it red. Themis sighed in annoyance.
"Ah, there you are! I went to the medical tent to find you but you were not around. I believe one of my larger wounds opened back up. It doesn't look..." Andreas wasn't looking at Themis but rather at his wound while talking which is why he kept on rambling. Once he looked up though, he saw Themis standing in front of a bucket fully naked. Themis was tall, almost as tall as him which ultimately made them taller than Alexi. Themis was flat-chested with no hips but they also didn't have any masculine-looking muscles either. They were skinny but not skinny enough to see bone. Once Andreas' eyes naturally travelled downward and saw Themis' private area for the first time, he looked a bit shocked but tried to keep his emotions in control for fear of offending his friend. Themis did have a penis but where the testicles are supposed to be, was replaced with a vagina hole. Finally, Andreas noticed he had been staring for too long and cleared his throat, followed by a cough while looking away.
Themis on the other hand was so stunned that they felt like they couldn't move. The sound of Andreas clearing his throat helped them regain their composure and find the nearest fabric to wrap around their lower torso.
Themis was always self-conscious about their body. So much so that they aren't sure how it works sexually. Themis never dared to let anyone else see what they possessed. As a feeling of not belonging, they felt as if they didn't have a place in the world sexually. For they saw it impossible for someone to love what they were cursed with. Although it hasn't been the first time someone has accidentally seen a glance of them, it was the first time for someone to see it for more than a second. Their cheeks redden at the thought of embarrassment. Themis knew Andreas could see their blush as it became very apparent with how pale their skin was.
"I'm... I am truly sorry. I should have announced myself beforehand." Themis could see that Andreas truly felt horrible. They figured Andreas got the hint that Themis doesn't let people see them so exposed.
"Ugly, is it not?" Themis asked insecurely.
Andreas just looked at them. "I don't think so," he smiles.
Whether Andreas was lying to seem polite, they smiled at the kind words regardless. "Come here, let me check your wound," Themis waved him over.
Andreas walked up to them and put his arms through his toga in order to roll it down for his chest to be exposed for Themis to examine. Themis examined the large slash across his breastplate. Themis laughed, "It's just scabbing Andreas. Have your wounds never scabbed over before?"
