Ielle's POV

Kriiing! Kriiiiiing!

I smacked the alarm clock off and sat up groggily. I stared at the calendar hanging on my wall. My eyes narrowed at the date today.

.

August 7. Chinese Valentines' Day.

.

.................. And also the worst day ever in my history........

.

I sighed and ran a hand through my hair. I got out of bed and walked towards the terrace. I unlocked the double doors and opened them, breathing in the hot Summer air. I sat on a chair outside and crossed my arms over the terrace fence, propping my chin on them and watching the rising sun.

'Another year without you, Onii-chan...'

The sky was still dark as the sun started to rise. The world blended into a mixture of purple, blue, orange and yellow. Clouds were swirling over the sun. On the other side, stars spent their last appearance this day by shining brightly. There was a bright morning star who was still shining despite the light surrounding it. I smiled at it.

'Ohayou, Onii-chan...'

I heard a knock and then my bedroom door opened and closed but I paid it no mind, already knowing it was Kyrie. I glanced towards the garden, to the greenhouse where Onii-chan's tomb stood. I felt somebody's hand on my shoulder and the other wiped my tears that I didn't notice fall.

"Kyrie...", I whispered. She hugged me.

"Shhh... I know it's hard... It's okay to cry...", she mumbled, rubbing my back. I cried even more and threw my arms around her, sobbing.

"It hurts, Kyrie... It hurts... It's been 4 years already... And it still hurts!" I said on her shoulder. She patted my back. We stayed like that for a while till I pulled back and smiled at her. She returned it and helped me stand up. Aira and Mei were inside waiting for us. They looked at me worriedly. I smiled at them to say I was alright and they bowed. I took a shower and dressed as Erei, since it's more comfortable. "Kyrie, are Mom and Dad home?"

"Akasia-sama brought your Mom to the hospital today", she replied, fixing my hair.

"Is she okay?"

"Yes, Akasia-sama stated it was just her monthly checkup", I nodded at her. She finished with my hair and I stepped out my room, being greeted by the usual people. I sat down to eat and I invited Kyrie, to which she reluctantly agreed.
