Chapter 4
As I was walking to the gym, I thought about what Tristan had said earlier.
His game was to flirt and get into my pants. He’s a player.
So I would definitely be one.
I would beat him in his own game without losing myself.
I was so deep in thought that I didn’t notice Caden staring at me twenty feet away. I harrumphed and scowled at him, flicking my lose hair over my shoulder to add to the effect.
I heard his faint gasp and sharp intake of breath making me snicker.
I was already changed into my gym shorts and tight tee when someone slung an arm over my shoulder and I immediately recognized Wayne’s manly scent. Anyone would get familiar to his smell if they stayed close to him all day. Fortunately, I did.
If you’re thinking that I’m kind of some slut for letting Tristan and Wayne hold me like that, for your information, I’m not. I feel comfortable with them in a brotherly way. Kind of how comfortable I am with my brother Ash.
“Mr. Smith looks different today,” Tristan commented.
“I know right,” I muttered as we walked towards the teacher.
“Ms. Jones, come in front please,” Caden ordered.
I groaned but complied.
“Since you were the only new senior, why don’t you introduce yourself?” he suggested.
I huffed. “Hi, I’m Tamara Jones but you can call me Tammy. I’m seventeen.”
“What are your favorite sports?”
I thought about it for a moment and answered, “Swimming.”
“Anyone has a question for her, go ahead and ask,” he said to the class.
I gritted my teeth.
One male asked, “Do you have a boy friend?”
“No.”
“You’re single then?” he almost stated as his smile appeared.
“No, I’m double,” I said sarcastically making the class laugh including Caden.
“Another?” he asked.
“Are you still a virgin?” another male asked eyeing my exposed legs.
“O-okay, I think that’s enough,” Caden said before I could answer. “Fifteen laps around the field everyone, chop chop!”
Everyone scrambled onto their feet and started grumbling that it was way too many lapses. I laughed and started for the starting line when Caden approach me.
“Hey, Tammy.”
I was surprised that he was calling me by my first name again not the crappy ‘Miss Jones’. I looked at him with an eyebrow raised.
“I’m sorry,” he said softly, surprising me even more.
“For what?” I asked.
“You don’t have to do detention. It wasn’t your fault that Ryan provoked you,” his voice so gentle it melted my heart.
“No, it’s no big deal. I rather stay here than home alone, anyway,” I said, waving my hand dismissively.
“You’d rather be with me?” his voice suddenly brighter and happier?
“Um…”
“Okay, you still have detention,” he said, now beaming at me. “Now, fifteen laps, Miss Jones.” He grabbed my shoulder and turned me around giving me a little push.
