Lola
Sucking her breath in, she clenched her teeth together and opened the door. Creaking open, the door gave way and welcomed her in. The classroom before her, that had seen better days, was lined with shabby desks, ever growing windows and a deep dark closet at the back. This was her classroom as creepy as it wished to be when everyone was gone.
Rushing over to her desk, Lola pushed up the top to reveal its closet space. Revealing a small box. It was a dark, pine wood and it smelt of cinnamon ash. It's body had small engravings laced across it; symbols of the old times. And to cradle it well in protection, keeping the secrets safe, a laced up bow had been tied.
It had been carefully placed, in the centre of the desks closet hole. It looked perfect, and completely undisturbed. Like it had been their for years. Which was ridiculous, as she'd literally been using this desk all day. The spot was perfect it seemed, yet impossible to how the fact the box looked so at home.
Lawrence
Risking a glance, he peeped through the eye line gap. Watching ever so closely, he grinned to himself as he saw Lola enter the room. This was brilliant, she was actually going to open the box.
Excitedly watching, Lawrence pondered to himself whether or not he should surprise her or not. That is if she opened the box. Well the big question was if. Practically on the verge of jumping out, of the closet, Lawrence bit his lip. Anticipating, the exciting wait he had.
As he watched her open the desk and observe the box, he thought quietly to himself. Wondering why Lola could possibly be annoyed at him. She seemed to always have a problem with his smile, but he couldn't possibly think why. It was great, yet it vexed her so much. He wondered why?
Redirecting his attention to the box, and Lola, Lawrence stared wide eyed, as Lola traced her fingers across the laced bow.
Lola
It was beautiful to every last detail it looked so perfect, yet so normal, it should have been out of place here yet it wasn't. Luring her curiosity, and capturing it tightly the ribbon suddenly started to loosen. Without realising Lola's fingers had looped and traced the structure of the bow, deflating it's natural defences of beauty.
Perplexed, by the ease it had loosened Lola finished the job and the bow unraveled. Revealing, more of the old symbols of the world's pasts. The pine wood filled her nostrils, traveling deeper as she moved her fingers down to the opening crack of the box. Then carefully applying pressure, she pushed up the lid and opened the box.
Taking a deep breath, she peered into the box.
"Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh"
It screamed! Startled by the up cry, Lola stumbled back slightly. How had something so beautiful created such a horrible sound. After the awful sound had finished, Lola bravely tried to peer into the box again. This time instead of screams, she was faced with silence. Relieved, she started to closely inspect it's contents. Inside there was...
Lawrence
Finally, she had opened it! And on top of that she hadn't run off screaming, when the box made a disturbance. All was going to plan. Soon she'd realise the boxes contents, and he would be able to reveal himself. He was so looking forward to her face when he appeared. Oh how he loved her expressions, and reactions to his oh so lovely gifts. This time it would be fun to give her another riddle, to clue in the next trial, if she completed this one.
Until then he'd just have to wait. Just a few more seconds!
