We walk outside the door and turn left. We live in the countryside so there aren't to many houses around and the road just goes straight until you get to the town and either side of the road is forest. It's risky walking on this road but it's better then being in the forest.

"Keep your eyes open and pay attention Gray." There's no answer so I look over at it and it looks likes he's daydreaming. "Gray?"

He shakes his head a looks at me. "Sorry what did you say?"

"Seriously Gray sometimes I feel like whatever I say goes through one ear and out the other. I said keep your eyes open and pay attention which you clearly aren't doing."

He looks at the ground. "Sorry I was thinking. "

"About what?" I ask him.

"It's nothing."

I playfully punch his arm. "Come on you can tell me."

"Its nothing Liz just drop it ok?" He tone is the harshest I've ever heard it which kinda takes me by surprise. I want to know what he's thinking about but I decide not to push the situation any farther he seemed upset.

We walk in comfortable silence and I get bored so I start fidgeting with the rake while staring at my moving feet. I eventually get board of that so I look ahead of that and see a silhouette of a person far enough away that I can't see and of their facial features. "Gray look." I point to the person's silhouette. He looks at it for a few seconds before taking his gun out of it's holster and pointing it at it. Just as he's about to shoot I push his arms down so the gun is now pointing at the ground. "Don't be stupid Gray you know noise attracts them and plus we don't even know it's a zombie or not."

He gives me a disapproving look. "Come on Liz we haven't seen another human being since we found Amanda and I'm pretty sure if it was a human they would be running towards us."

I sigh, he's right. "So today may be the day, maybe they have the cure!" I glance at the figure that's slowly making it's way towards us, yep it's a zombie. I sigh. I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up anyways.

Gray must have seen my sadness because her pats me on the shoulder not saying anything. "I call killing it!" I laugh and run towards it.

"Cheater I wasn't ready!" I hear Gray call from behind me.

We both reach the zombie. It looks to be a man in his fourties and if weren't for the fact that his skin is green and there is a giant hole in his beer belly showing us his intestines you would think he was human he even had a Rolex watch on his left wrist.

I look at Gray with pleading eyes. "Fine you can kill him."

I mentally do a happy dance and with one swift motion make the tines of the rake connect with the top of the zombies bald head. The crimson blood starts to flow and I watch as the body falls to the ground. But that's all the falls. I look at the end of the rake and the head if the creature is still stuck onto it. I hold the head closer to my face and see that the teeth are not pointed into sharp canines and the eyes are rolled back into it's head so you can't see the pupils. "Well that's interesting can we get a move on?" Gray says from beside me." I nod and push the head off the rake with my foot.

"Now I see why you like gardening tools. They're so easy to handle."

He smiles. "How's your foot doing?"

"It's jut fine why do you ask?"

"Cause I don't thing we will be doing anymore walking." He point to a car in the distance.

(A/N: so Gray is hiding something! What do you guys think it is?)
