“Riley! Wake up!” I heard a voice yell while pillows were being thrown at the bed.
I rub my eyes to see Thomas standing beside the bed. I shook Riley to wake him up considering he was still dead asleep.
“Huh? What?” Riley asked still half asleep.
“Connor texted me. He said we gotta get over there to your house. I’m guessing he texted you too but you didn’t hear your phone go off.” Thomas replied.
“No, but wait…what are you still doing here?” Riley asked Thomas.
“Yeah, what is he still doing here?” I asked peaking over at Dyanna who was standing in the doorway.
“We ended up falling asleep downstairs on the sofa after you two came up here. And since we are asking questions here…where the hell do you two stand?!” Dyanna asked eagerly while hopping onto the bed beside me.
I looked over to Riley and smiled. “We’re…” I began.
“Together.” Riley finished for me.
“Together.” I whispered after him.
“Good! Now Riley, we gotta go! Connor is going to get mad if we aren’t at your house in 15. Kenzie and Dyanna can come too.” Thomas said leaving the guest room.
I looked over at Riley and shrugged. I made my way to Dyanna’s room to pick out an outfit to wear for the day while Riley got an outfit out of his bag.
After about 5 minutes we were all dressed and ready to leave. Thomas drove us all and we were there within a few minutes. We all headed down to the basement where Connor, Braiden, Toby, Cassidy, and Tayler were already hanging out.
“It’s a little early don’t ya think?” Riley asked before throwing the nearest thing at Connor which just happened to be an empty Starbucks cup.
“It’s only 9:30. You’ll live. I mean if you wanna hear what I was planning on telling you all…” Connor teased.
“Dude, tell us!” Braiden begged. “He was making us what for you two.”
“Well we are here now.” Thomas said sitting down on the floor with Dyanna beside him.
“Alright, so there’s this acoustic show going on tomorrow about 10 minutes from here. A band backed out of it so we were asked to take their spot. Whataya say?” Connor asked getting pumped.
“That’s awesome!” Riley cheered.
Everyone else agreed. Toby seemed pretty quiet while staring at his phone. His eyes were practically glued to the screen.
“Uhh Tobster, you alright over there?” Cassidy asked Toby.
“Huh? What? I mean uh yeah.” Toby responded almost clueless.
“Who are you talking to? Your eyes have been glued to your phone for almost 30 minutes now.” Connor asked Toby.
“My friend. Would it be okay if I invited someone to come? I mean since you all have a girl to be with you. I don’t wanna be alone…” Toby said under his breath.
“Awww does Toby have a little crush?!” Riley teased.
Toby’s cheeks turned bright red but he tried to hide his face with his hands but that made Riley and Connor tease him some more.
“What’s her name?” Tayler asked trying to make Toby feel better.
“Rachel. She’s a friend from school.” Toby said smiling.
“Wait, the Rachel that you went to the 8th grade dance with last year?” Connor asked him. He nodded.
“That is the cutest thing!” Cassidy said while nudging Toby.
“You are just like my brothers! What is it? Pick on Toby day?” He looked around not expecting a single answer.
We all exchanged looks and then respond at the same time. “Yes.”
We all laughed. Toby asked Rachel to come along to the concert tomorrow and she gladly accepted.
We spent the day getting ready for the show. The guys practiced a whole bunch of acoustic songs to play. They made some of their own songs acoustic but also decided to cover quite a few songs. It was cool hanging out with everyone without anything bad happening. I could definitely get used to it.
The day seemed to pass by rather quickly. Before we know it, the day was gone. We spent it helping the guys get ready for the show. I was really excited for them and to be able to see them perform a show for the first time. Cassidy, Tayler, Dyanna, and I all got ready to leave around 8:00 at night.
Tayler and Cassidy had just left. Dyanna was waiting on me while I waited on Riley to finish up one last thing for tomorrow. Thomas offered to drive the two of us home so he and Dyanna waited in the car for me. We walked upstairs together and he walked me outside.
“You sure you’ll be okay tonight?” Riley asked placing his hands on my waist while his face showed a look of concern.
“I’ll be fine. I’m with Dyanna and you’re only one phone call or text away. You haven’t been home for a few nights. I think it’s good for you to stay here.” I sighed.
“I know, but if you ever do need me, please do not even hesitate. Okay?”
“I won’t. I promise. But I gotta go. Dyanna and Thomas are waiting on me. I’ll see you tomorrow. Make sure you get sleep tonight. You have a big day tomorrow.” I said smiling.
“You sound like my mother.” He joked.
“Riley Thomas McDonough, I am not your mother.” I stuck my tongue out at him.
“But you are my beautiful girlfriend. Be careful. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
He pulled me in for a hug and kissed my cheek before I walked to the car. I could get used to being called girlfriend. It was nice. I smiled and waved to Riley as we pulled out of the driveway. Once he saw us begin to leave he went back into his house. Tomorrow was going to be the best day I’ve had in a while. I couldn’t wait.
Author’s note: Sorry that this chapter is kind of boring. It’s basically a filler chapter that is going to lead up to a huge idea of mine, which you can happen to except the beginning of in the next chapter. I tried to make this chapter cute though since it wasn’t too eventful. Please comment and vote to give me some feedback. It’s gladly appreciated! Thank you! -Cassandra
