Connor's POV:
I was sitting in an empty room all alone. I saw people pass by, not paying any attention to me. I was hoping somebody would come in and tell me what was going on. But no one did. I saw Kenzie outside the room and called to her. She ran into the room and threw her arms around me while she sobbed hysterically.
"Connor, this is all my fault! I'm so sorry." She cried out.
“Shh, calm down." I was worried too but the last thing Kenzie needed to see was how upset I was.
After the show I knew that Kenzie and Riley walked away on their own to talk. A few minutes later I saw Kenzie run away in tears without Riley. Dyanna ran after her and that’s when I went to search for Riley. I looked around for a while until I found him, down on the ground and beat up beyond relief. There was no one around. Riley was out cold. I called Kenzie in a panic and ran Riley to my car and drove off to the hospital as fast as I could. I didn't tell Toby, Braiden, Thomas, Cassidy, or Tayler when I left. I didn't need them to find out right now. The most important thing was Riley.
"Where is he?" She choked up between sobs.
"I don't know. They rushed him back as soon as I got here about 25 minutes ago."
I knew something like this would happen. But now wasn't the time to get mad at Kenzie. It wasn't her fault. It was that idiot, Luke.
I continued to hold her in my arms and rubbed her back in attempt to calm her down. The shoulder of my shirt was drenched with her tears. A doctor came into the room asking for a McDonough. I walked up to him and said that was me.
"Riley suffered some damage to his ribs and has a broken arm. He's got a few cuts and bruises as well. Right now he's asleep; we just got him out of surgery.
"Surgery?!" Kenzie panicked.
I put my arm around her waist and pulled her close to me.
"Yes, but he will be okay. Have you contacted your parents about Riley yet?" The doctor asked.
"I called them and they're on their way. They don't know much about what is going on though." I informed the doctor.
"Can we go see Riley now?" Kenzie asked getting impatient.
"That's fine. But please, only one person in the room with him at a time."
I looked at Kenzie who looked like she was about to collapse to the floor any minute. I nodded to her gesturing for her to go. I wanted to see him but I didn't want to leave Kenzie here without anyone.
The doctor began walking with Kenzie quick behind. I ended up following them just to make sure everything was okay. I wasn't just going to sit in the waiting room. The doctor pointed Kenzie to a room. Once he walked away and Kenzie went into the room I snuck up quietly without anyone hearing or seeing me. Kenzie's eyes welled up with tears as she fell right to her knees. I looked at her and then to Riley. He looked so helpless, and so did she.
