Later that night I started to get ready because Luke insisted taking me out.
"You need to have fun and get your mind off of him, okay? I'm gonna make sure you have fun," Luke said sternly, but jokingly.
"Yeah, yeah," I scoffed at him.
He laughed at me and went to start his car. I looked in the mirror and sighed. I wasn't going to get dressed up, but I dressed nicer. I hate dressing up when I don't have Calum to coordinate with, that's what makes it fun. I said bye to Ash and Michael before heading out the door to meet Luke in his car. "Where are we going to dinner," I asked.
"You'll just have to see," he said back to me. I rolled my eyes and sighed while putting on my seatbelt. He put on some music and started driving to the mystery destination. We pulled up to Olive Garden and I just laughed, because Olive Garden has always been my favorite place to go with Luke, and he knows that. The entire night was filled with laughter and pure happiness. I was happy for the first time in a long time, and it was because of my brother. Luke and I are only a year apart, so we've always been extremely close. He graduated and moved right away, but I still had a year left. We lost our parents when I was 14 and Luke was 16, so he promised them he would take care of me, and he has. They were in a car accident and both in critical condition, so we knew they weren't going to make it. I missed almost my entire freshman year of high school because of depression. Luke was always better at dealing with it than I was. I was always sensitive and upset easily afterwards. So, Luke moved out of our great aunt's house and I had to stay until I graduated. When they started the band I absolutely fell in love with them. I've always been probably their biggest supporter and I know it hurts Luke that our parents can't see everything he's accomplished. When I wasn't at school, I'd be watching them practice. Calum and I started dating my sophomore year and then we got engaged my senior year when I turned 18. He was there for everything. Prom, graduation, college, all of it. I really admired him for always making our relationship work when they started touring, but I guess I was wrong.
Luke took me shopping and took me to get ice cream before going home. We used to do brother-sister dates all the time before he moved, so this was nice.
