"Bravekit, come forward."
Rosefire smiled, as his little brother walked slowly up to high-lege. He was surprised when Heartstar said, "Rosefire, you just came out, and that was hard. That is why I am giving you Bravepaw as an apprentice. Please pass on all Graytail thought you too Bravepaw."
Rosefire bumped noses with his brother, and Bravepaw meowed, "I'll do my best Rosefire."
"Bravepaw! Bravepaw!" The Clan cheered.
Swanwhisker walked up to her sons. "I'm so proud of both of you!" She purred, licking Bravepaw on the head. "Ugg! Swanwhisker!" He said, his amber eyes flashing with annoyance. "I'm not a kit anymore! I can wash myself!"
Swanwhisker backed away, with a small mrrow of happiness. "We can start training tomorrow Bravepaw." Rosefire said. "Right now you should make yourself a nest in the apprentice den."
As Bravepaw walked away, Patchfrost trotted up to Rosefire. "I'm expecting kits!" She purred. "Who's the mate?" Rosefire asked.
"Kestrelfern..."
Rosefire looked solemnly at her. "Kestrelfern is dead. He died of greencough a moon ago."
"I know." Patchfrost gazed down. "I'm sad that my kits won't know who their father is."
"Yeah. And I can't be their father. I'm their uncle."
Patchfrost purred. "That's ok. Their uncle Rosefire can look after them too!"
"When are you moving to the nursery?" Rosefire asked.
"Soon!" Patchfrost meowed. "I'm happy that you got Bravepaw as an apprentice."
"As am I." Rosefire said. "Now, I have to go and get some sleep in order to train Bravepaw tomorrow. Bye Patchfrost."
Patchfrost waved her tail and said, "Good night brother!"

"Alright! That move was good!" Rosefire and Bravepaw where training, and Bravepaw had just learned the belly-rake. Patchfrost had moved to the nursery, upon Fergus' request, because her kits where going to come early-Or so he thought.-
Bravepaw attacked Rosefire with sheathed claws, and Rosefire fell to the ground, his younger brother pinning him down. "Yes! I have defeated the mighty Rosefire! I-"
Rosefire bolted up, flinging Bravepaw off him. "Hey!" Bravepaw growled. "You pretended to be beaten!"
Rosefire purred. "You think a real enemy wouldn't do that? You know, Heartstar is planning a flight with ShadowClan soon. You'll have to partake."
Bravepaw looked at Rosefire, worry in his eyes. "I know. And I'm scared." He buried his face in Rosefire's chest. "It's my first fight! What if something bad happens?"
He gazed up at Rosefire, who licked his shoulder. "I know it's hard Bravepaw. You know what, here. Let me tell you a story."
Bravepaw eagerly sat in front of Rosefire.
"Two she-kits where born with you, but they died right as they were born. You survived, even though you where very weak. I asked Swanwhisker if we could call you Bravekit because of how brave it was for such a small kit to go through so much. Bravepaw, if you were brave as a kit, you can be brave as an apprentice. Trust me ok?"
Bravepaw looked up at him. "Ok Rosefire. What did my sisters look like?" He tilted his head.
"Well..." Rosefire tried to remember. "One was a gray tabby, and one was pure white. But you where the best!" Bravepaw chuckled and purred. "Well Rosefire, I think I'm going to take a break. We can train more tonight ok?"
"Alright Bravepaw. If that's what you want." Rosefire meowed, as he watched his black-pelted brother trot through the trees.
