The beast was gone.
Namjoon's sacrifice had exiled the curse from all of them, welcoming back their morality. Their humanity. Their authority over their lives.
No longer did they feel the chains bringing them to the demand of the beast that lurked inside of them.
Yet liberty came at a price.
It cost Sofia.
It cost Jane.
It cost Emily.
It cost Namjoon.
It cost everything and now Jungkook wondered to himself if the price was worth it all.
The tamed perfume of lavender drifting into his now mundane senses couldn't distract him from the question as the hum of the waves crashing into the shore tried to win his attention.
He ran from Greenville.
Finding himself in a paradise that only lacked one thing that would bring it no flaws.
Her.
He thought over how he could have saved Emily so many times. Able to recite the numerous plans he could have performed so that Emily could stand tranquilly with him now.
Yet, he now knew, planning out the ways he could have saved her was pointless.
For she was dead.
And there was nothing he could do about it.
It had taken him an endless amount of long, solemn nights to realise that despite the sombre feeling that had stitched itself to the memory of Emily, he should just bath in the blissful memories he had with her.
He was now the archives of her being. Only he could narrate the person she was to the world so that her memory could live on.
He didn't want to taint the memories of her with the sins they may have committed at the expense of the curse.
He wanted to preserve her in a warm, blissful state.
The same state of euphoria she drowned him in whenever she was around.
Even if it's full state couldn't be manifested in his heart, he was happy.
For he was lucky enough to be blessed with the feeling even if it had now faded.
To have a love that was unconditional.
To have a love that was blind to his flaws.
To have a love given by her.
His Emily.

IT'S OVER
OH JESUS CHRIST THAT WAS A ROLLER COASTER
But in all seriousness thank you so much for reading this experiment which to be honest I thought I would never finish but here we are 🙃
I think the message for this book was definitely seeing the good in people as obviously shown between Jungkook and Emily since despite what Jungkook was and what Emily had done, they still loved each other with purity and focused on the better parts of each other rather than their flaws. Not going to lie I kind of cried when writing the scene where Emily died. It was sad or am I over exaggerating? Also Namjoon sacrificed himself for a reason.
I wanted to represent the sacrifices that Namjoon actually makes in real life as a leader as well as the book because HES AN AMAZING LEADER DONT EVEN FIGHT ME. I wanted to emphasise the physical and mental lengths he will go in order to protect the others even if that does mean giving up something crucial to himIT'S SHOUT-OUT TIME
