Maya's POV

I woke up this morning in my bed. Lucas must have carried me to the couch last night.

I walked around the empty penthouse Lucas isn't home. His hockey bag isn't sitting by the door which means he's a the rink.

My phone starts to ring and Riley's face pops up on the screen.

"Hey Riley," I answer.

"Hey Maya," she responds back.

"What's up?"

"Nothing much but are you busy?"

"No Lucas isn't here so I wasn't planning on doing much."

"Can you meet me for a coffee?"

"Sure."

"When?"

"Half hour."

"See you then," I hung up.

The coffee shop is only a block away from the penthouse. Riley's sitting in our normal spot by the window.

I walk in and sit down in the seat opposite of her.

"Hey what's up?" I asked.

"I'm about to lose it," Riley looks like she hasn't been able to sleep all night.

"What's wrong with you?"

"I can't stop think about Farkle."

"Farkle Minkus?"

"Yes!"

"What?"

"Help me?" she begs.

"Do you like him?" I asked.

"I think so."

"Are you going to tell him?"

"I can't," she says.

"Why not?" I asked.

"He's my best friend and I love him. I can't just get up and tell him that I love him."

"Why not?"

"If he doesn't like my back I'm going to ruin everything we have."

"I get that but what if he does like you back."

"Just imagine if you were me and Lucas was Farkle what would you do."

I'm not even sure what I would do. Lucas was everything to me and if I put myself out there and he didn't like me back I don't know what I'd do.

"I don't know."

"Exactly."

Farkle was everything to her. He helped her move into her apartment and picked her up from the airport. He went out with to parties and stayed with her the whole time. He was everything she needed.

Farkle was my Lucas.
