"Emily, Aesop is here! Help!" Hearing Emma's voice had never been so relieving.
He had crawled his way to the manor feeling like he would pass out throughout the whole way. The buzzing in his head was getting louder and impossible to handle. His awareness of the surroundings was so low he didn't know whether his friends were right in front of him or a kilometer away. Their voices sounded echoey and distant, out of reach.
Three survivors picked him up. Emma and Emily were surely there, but he couldn't figure out who was the third person because of his foggy vision. It had to be a male. He knew that. The muscles and roughness of the hands gave it away.
"Should we take him to his room?" Kevin said, probably from the corridor. Aesop wasn't sure. He felt like the voice wasn't close enough.
There was silence for a moment.
"That might be a good idea. William, can you do that?"
"Of course." The hand on his waist tightened as the others left his body. So it was William there.
"I thought I was the one who carried people around here! That's why I asked!" He would have laughed at the Cowboy's protest, but he was afraid his head might explode for that.
"Kevin, this is not the time to feel offended." Said the Doctor authoritatively.
William carried Aesop upstairs to his bedroom. Emily was just behind them with a medkit on her hands, just in case she would need it.
By the time they arrived at the Embalmer's bed and laid him down, he felt covered in sweat, like he had run a marathon.
"He looks paler than usual." William pointed out placing a hand on Aesop's forehead. "And is sweating a lot. High temperature too."
The Forward was a nurse for a day. Or for a few minutes, however, he was helping Emily a lot. Two fingers pressed down on his throat slightly. "It might be low blood sodium..." The same hand brushed off some of his forehead sweat in a reassuring gesture.
"But didn't he eat some biscuits at breakfast?"
"Sure, like three biscuits. It's not going to do much for him." She removed her gloved hand from her patient's head. "Good thing is that is lunch time already. Let's go."
"We'll bring something for you to eat soon, ok, buddy?"
Aesop nodded. It was the only way he could respond.
About five minutes later, Martha arrived with a tray, a glass of water and a plate of rice, meat and some broccoli. "How do you feel?"
He sat up with some difficulties. "I've been better."
She placed the meal on his lap and sat on the corner of the bed next to him. His vision was still blurred but the worry on the Coordinator's face was easily spotted.
"Emily said it's best for you to stay here for the rest of the day."
"What?!" The grey eyes widen.
"Don't do that, your pressure might drop again." She sighed. "Look, you can be in all the matches tomorrow if you want, but please rest and eat something for now, alright? Now eat your veggies."
Great, now he had to spend all day in bed.

I'd like to say I'm really sorry for the time I've been taking to post. I really don't like to throw around excuses, but a lot of things have been happening. Not all bad things, don't worry, but still, a lot of things. Writing keeps me in my own little world so I'm doing a writing marathon today. Maybe I can post more than one chapter ;') Anyways, hope you're enjoying this little journey ~ ♡
