You stares at yourself in the mirror while you evaluated your look. You wore a black dress with a huge ribbon at the back and you used some eyeliner and a light shade of pink for your lips. You were deliberating on which earring to wear when your phone suddenly rang, it was obviously Tsukishima.

"Hey, you ready?" he asks with a tone that gave you a hint about how nervous he is. He usually keeps his cool but you guess that maybe he's also overthinking about how his family will accept you.

Will they like the way you dress? Will they find your personality nice? Will they even accept you as the girl dating their Kei?

"I am. I'll be there soon, okay?" you say as you dabbed some orange powder onto your cheeks. It made you look fresh and it was nice to try a different color on your face.

You walked on the stairs and you tried to walk naturally on your shoes with some heels. You weren't small, Kei was just a tall person but you wanted to appear a bit taller. Not that you'd wear them inside the house though.

"Kei," you call him. "Let's go."

"Yeah, let's do that," he tells you. The moment he laid his eyes on you, he directed his view on something else again. He acted the same way as he did after the concert, without the part he placed his hand on his face though.

You didn't know the directions, you barely knew which neighborhood he belonged to so you simply relied on him. You followed him and you held his hand like a child trying not to get lost in a crowd. You didn't look at him this time in hopes that he'd stop being too conscious about himself. You'd love him either way, even if his shyness would go away or not at some point.

After some time, you ended up in an unfamiliar area. It was quiet and peaceful. This was probably where he lives. "It's somewhere around here huh," you break the silence.

"Yeah, well, we're actually right in front of it now," he tells you.

You started to feel nervous. It was the same feeling you get before exams you knew you didn't pay much attention to. He held your hand tighter and knocked.

"You don't have the keys to your own house?" you giggled. "How weird."

"I do but my mother told me to knock so she'd know immediately that we're here."

The door opened and you see a man, certainly older than Kei, with a face full of delight. They looked similar but gave off extremely different auras.

"You must be Y/N. Come in!" he greets you with a smile.

You did your greetings too and you removed your shoes before taking one more step. Kei did the same.

"I'm Akiteru, I'm his brother. Kei rarely tells us about you but when he does, you won't believe how-" his brother tried to tell you about Kei but Kei didn't let him.

"You talk to much, brother," he interrupts.

"See? He's getting so shy! What a rare sight," his brother laughed.

The way they looked can make anyone certain that they have some blood relation but their difference in personalities can make anyone think otherwise as well.

You followed Akiteru and Kei as they walk to the dining area, where a lady with light brown was preparing lunch. "Mom, they're finally here," Akiteru informed her.

"Good, please take a seat," she instructed as she looked at you.

"You're Y/N, right?" she states while you took a seat.

"Yes, I am," you answer in a polite manner.

"I'm his mom. It's nice to finally meet my son's favorite person," she told you with a smile.

"Take a seat," Akiteru tells you. Kei pulls a chair out for you and you thanked him in a soft voice.

His mother went closer to the dining area with a bowl of curry on her hands. Kei had the initiative to help his mother get the rice. You felt an awkward atmosphere, it might just be you but you had a feeling that his mother was not too happy to see you.

Later on, everyone was on their seats. When it was time to get some food, Akiteru starts a conversation. "Well, how long have you too been dating?"

"A month now," Kei replied in a rather stoic manner.

"Kei is dating now, surprising," his mother commented. From that then on, you were almost sure that she didn't like you or even the thought of her youngest son dating anyone. She had a lovely tone that hinted sweetness but you were still certain about it.

"Yeah, can't believe he gets along with someone else other than Yamaguchi," Akiteru responds.

"Very funny," Kei rolled his eyes as he takes a bite.

You tried to lighten the mood. You thought of maybe complimenting his mom or telling something interesting about Kei. You decide to initiate small talk and comment on how delicious the food is. It didn't go too well. She had a sweet look on her face and it was reflected on the way she responded to you but you couldn't help but be concerned about whether or not she approves of you.

Right after dinner, Kei told his mother that you'd be hanging out on his room. You see his mother raise an eyebrow and she spoke something to him, many of which were unaudible.

After a short while, Kei tilted his head, something you understood as a sign to follow him. "I'll show you something," he mumbled while you fasten your pace to keep up with him.

The small hallway had some pictures hanging on the walls. You saw Kei, a much younger version of him. He already had the glasses and he still had short blonde hair. "Hey, are you already satisfied with just seeing that one picture?" he asks. You just realized how slow your pace was but his room was already three steps away from where you were.

You entered his room and how organized it was was the first thing you noticed. The books were placed in alphabetical order and his dinosaurs were displayed neatly just above his desk.

He, then, lowers his body and tried to reach something below the bed. You crouch in an attempt to see what exactly he was doing and sat on the floor, directly facing him. "Ah I got it," he exclaimed.

"What is it?" You leaned on to him to check what he had on his hands.

"Uh, face there and don't look just yet," he tells you.

Confused, you wanted to ask him why but he already continued speaking. "Just do it. Face the opposite direction, don't look."

You sighed and smiled. You did as you were told without not even knowing why. You knew you didn't do things without reason; you did things rationally. Love made you do it otherwise.

As you close your eyes and wait for something to happen, you felt his arms holding you. You open your eyes and try to turn around. "Who told you to look?" he said in his usual salty voice.

You stopped trying to look at him and smiled again. You didn't know what to say nor what to do and you were about to be flustered again and panic until you felt his head resting on your shoulder.

"I waited so long for this."
