ch 5 pt 5: A Demon's Love

"EMILY WAIT!" I shouted. I looked down.

"Damit..."

"What's her problem?" Monika asked. I looked at her.

"It's...a long story..." I replied. Monika looked confused, her phone started to ring, I looked down.

"Monika...if I told you I was friends with a Demon...would you and I still be friends?" I asked. Her phone ringed more.

"Hold that thought Deckerd," she said answering her phone.

"I'm on my way..." Monika said. she hung up and I grabbed her hand.

"Monika answer me first!"I demanded, she looked me in the eyes.

"Deckerd, it depends look I got to go. There's a code Sixty Three happening" she replied. My eyes widen as Monika ran in the direction Emily ran in.

"Ulysses we gotta go now"

"Agreed," Ulysses said grabbing his bow staff and a medkit.

Ten minutes went by, we ran. I stopped seeing the building glow I heard Monika talk to one of the guards.

"Ok what are we dealing with Amer?" she asked

"Escaped experiment E-36" Amer replied. My eyes widen they were after Emily...

"Have you tried engaging it?" Monika asked. I glared.

"It's none of your concern Monika...you try going near her shell wipe you out faster than sound..." I said.

"How do you know all of this?" Amer asked. I just ignored him.

"You should leave her to true professionals, the true Healing Church members..." Ulysses said

"Sir we got this, I'm afraid you have to go..." Monika said. but it was too late, I looked at the building hearing Emily screech. I saw the men launch out of the building like rag dolls, instantly dead. Monika held her mouth trying not to throw up.

"Holy shit!" she said.

"I uh...spoke too soon, you all need to leave now... you're all tainted with your dumbass beliefs, I remember days when the healing church, were every Species got along and experiments weren't allowed," Ulysses said, looking at me. I looked down and noticed a piece of paper. I picked it up and my eyes widened. It was in Emily's handwriting saying ' I have a crush on him...but can't tell him...he'll just be like the rest...d-' the rest of the page was burned. I knew who she was talking about...I looked at the building.

"Monika call off your men..." Ulysses demanded. Monika was scared shitless, Ulysses smacked her.

"YOU HEARD ME CALL THEM OFF!" Ulysses shouted. I saw all the men run out. Then I started to walk in the building alone.

"DECKERD!" Monika shouted

"No...let Deckerd go in..." I heard Ulysses say. I walked in, looked around seeing Emily.

"Emily?" I kneeled behind her as I grabbed her shoulder gently.she was twitching and was very unstable, holding her head.my hand was starting to burn.

"Emily I'm...I'm sorry" I sighed. I hugged her tight not letting go, she started getting hotter burning me. I hummed a soft tune. Seeing that she started to cool down, having her skin reform she started to cry.

"I'm sorry Emily...I'm sorry for the pain I caused..." I said holding her close. She looked up at me with tears in her eyes.

"You didn't...it was her... I don't like it when they...when she...judged me" Emily's voice was so soft, she didn't want to talk.
