When I woke up, I was on the cold floor of the Capitol Building. My sister was leaning over me, looking concerned. This is just what I need, I thought. I bet Mom will come rushing up any second. I stood up, turning to face Skylar.

"What are you-"

"Shhh! Skylar hissed. "You wandered into a closed off area. A top secret one." I looked to see if she was kidding, but the look on her face was dead serious. "Fine." I whispered. "Let's get out of here."

Five minutes and three close calls later, we were out into the main area. Some guys in official-looking suits were locking doors and closing things off. Our parents looked annoyed when they saw us coming.

"Where were you two? We have been looking for you for ten minutes!" My dad said, sounding relieved. "You are grounded. Both of you. When we get home, no more electronics this week."

Normally I would be upset about this, but after all that had happened tonight, I decided to let it go. The car ride home was silent, except for Mom and Dad talking in low voices. My window was down, and the cool night air felt really good. We pulled up to a hotel and dragged our suitcases out of the trunk. If you've ever been in a hotel late at night, this was the same. The lobby was brightly lit, warm, and had plenty of poofy couches.

I dropped my stuff and collapsed onto a couch while my parents checked in. Stairs would have been torture, so I convinced my family to take an elevator. My dad swiped one of those little card things in the door. It buzzed, letting us in. After hastily getting ready for bed, I face planted onto a bed. Ah... I was going to wake up very late tomorrow.
