I bolted upright in my bed. Sunlight filtered in through my window. I managed to drag myself out of bed and into my bathroom. From my hair, you would have thought I spent the night running in and out of a hurricane. I sighed and reached for the hairbrush.
School had gone by fast, because I was anxious for tutorials at the end of the day. I walked into the girl's gym, clutching the slip of paper in my hand.
My footsteps echoed through the empty school. The scene was a little too close to the one in my dream.
"Hello?!" I yelled. My coach walked out into the gym.
"Hi," she said."Come with me. You're right on time." I followed her outside,
blinking in the bright sunlight."What are we doing?" I asked.
She glanced at me. "You will find out soon enough." She stopped in the equipment room and led me into a hidden area I hadn't noticed before. The coach pressed her hand agains the wall, which opened up into a doorway. My eyes grew wide. She motioned me inside.
"You first," I decided. You can never be too careful. She stepped inside. Carefully, I followed her into the darkness.I almost tripped and fell on my face when I realized there were stairs. They spiraled way down, and I thought we would be walking forever when the narrow stairway opened into a cavern. No lights turned on. Nothing.
" A suprise party?" I muttered sarcasticly. "For me?"
My coach walked through the thick inky darkness and opened a door. Light flooded into the room, and I blinked.Standing in front of me were students, ranging from fourth grade age to high school age. They crowded around, all trying to get a better look at me. It seemed like we were standing at the end of a locker hallway. The crowd parted to let me through, and I slowly stepped into the crowd. That was when the world went dark and I hit the floor, hard.
