Once in a Blue Moon

First Full Moon

Tonight will be my first night that I will be able to go out and turn in the light on e night of a full moon. The light will give me the powers of turning into a wolf where and when ever I want, but you have to stand in the moon light at exactly 10:00. After standing in the moonlight for 5 minutes, you will get your powers and turn into a wolf. For the vampires, well none of us werewolf's know how they turn into a fully grown vampire. We do know however that they get there fangs. It is 9:50 and I have to head off to the woods. I will be meeting Grace and Kieran at 10:30, once we have turned. I rush down stairs and quickly run out the door.

"Melody!" Calls my dad.

"I have something for you."

Dad hands me a necklace that has a blue moon charm on it.

"It was your mothers. She wore it when she was your age." Explains my dad.

"It's beautiful! Thanks dad, but I have to go I have to be there in 8 minutes."

"You welcome sweet heart. Be safe and good luck."

My dad and I hug and I head out the door. The necklace was beautiful. It must represent a blue moon. Blue moons are very rare and only happen once every 10 years. I have never seen a blue moon. But I'm sure my dad has. I run through the woods and finally come to the spot where the moon light will hit. It is 10:59 and the moonlight will hit any minute. I stand and wait, I'm excited. The moonlight hits. It is crystal white and makes the flowers glow. I stand into the light and have the moonlight shine onto my face. It surrounds me for 5 minutes, before it disappears. I feels different. Maybe the moonlight changed me. I take my phone out and use the camera to see if anything has changed. I lift the camera to my face, my whole face has changed. I have bright blue eyes, short blonde hair with two long bits either side of my head and I also have wolf ears. I feel my ears, not quite sure what to think. As I stand and look at my self I get a glimpse of the time. It is 10:20, I have to get going.

"I wish to become a wolf."

Leaves swirl around me and a gush of wind picks me up. A light shines down on me and I am then put back onto the ground. I have turned, for the first time. I look just like my mother. Rich brown fur with bright blue eyes. A run and start to pick up the pace the further I get along. I come to the place where I should be meeting Grace and Kieran. I stand, waiting, two wolfs burst out of the black night. Grace was a beautiful wolf, she had night black fur and green eyes. Kieran had black fur that had brown streaks throughout it. We tried to talk to each other but nothing happened. But when we tried to talk to each other again we seemed to be able to listen to each other through our minds instead. We decided that we were going to go back home and show our parents our forms. As we ran back home it started to turn into a race. We arrived back to our town and we split our different ways.

"I wish to become a human."

I walk up to my house and knock on the door.

"Melody, how did it all go?" Asked dad.

"Great, I want to show you something, I wish to become a wolf."

The leaves come again and the wind picks me up.

"You look beautiful. Just like your mother." My dad said as a tear runs down his cheek.

"I wish to become a human."

I turn back and run over and give my dad a hug. My dad and I start to walk inside. We part our different ways and I head up stairs and he stays down stairs. I change into my pjs and head of to bed. I close my eyes and think about what I will do tomorrow night.
